just fangirling over gossip girl~
Okay, so... I just re-watched Gossip Girl's last week episode (2x24), because it was totally made of win and I'm going to fangirl about it about... now.
● First of all: YAY 80's!
I loved Lily's flashback thing. I'm actually very curious about her story and how she met her first husband and Rufus and all that - that's why I really hope they'll make another 'flashback' episode in the next series. It was very good and refreshing. The present day bits were pretty good, too. Loved the actresses that did Lily and Carol! :D
● LOVED the part when Lily and her sister Carol and their friends are at Van der Woodsen's house and they start a fight! Probably best moment of the whole episode, along with Blair being elected prom queen and the ending. The whole scene totally cracks me up:
VdW's girlfriend: "Finally. Take the trash back to the valley."
Lily&Carol *turning around to face her*: "What did you just say?"
VdW's girlfriend: "Don't you have anything better to do? Like... get your butt tattooed?"
Carol: "The only tattoo that I'm getting tonight is your face on my fist!" *is being held back by Shep*
Van der Woodsen: "Hey, hey, ladies, come on. No need to fight over me."
Shep *moving closer to VdW*: "Okay. Okay. How about we just fight you?"
*INSERT EPIC PUNCH + RUN FOR YOUR LIVES SCENE HERE XD*
SO MUCH WIN~
● Yay, Blair is elected prom queen! :D Lol, Chuck voted for her about 150 times. XD He just wanted to make sure she had the perfect night. Sweet!
This quote cracks me up every time:
Blair: "I won! This is my moment. I OWN PROM."
LOL. XD Blair, you OWN Gossip Girl.
● Lily is such a funny character, she just cracks me up every time she opens her mouth! XD
Owen: "So, what do you think? Cool place, uh?"
Lily: "Yeah, cool place to catch hepatitis."
Lily: "I'm sorry. I've had a really rough day. I got kicked out of school, my dad doesn't want me to live with him, I can't stand my mom, I spent the last 9 dollars I had on gas and now I'm broke AND I'm homeless and unless I can find my sister who I basically haven't talked to in like a year, I'm gonna have to become... *insert dramatic pause here* a prostitute."
Lily: "Going to a club, on a double date, with a guy I just met 5 minutes ago? ...You could be a psycho."
Lily: "Oh, this is the moment when you fall in love with me. It is, isn't it? You're totally falling in love with me right now!"
And Owen says the same thing to her later in the episode... awwww, so sweet! :D
● I LOVE 80's SONGS! Seriously, they're great. Thank you, Gossip Girl. You've made me fall in love with old songs all over again. :D
● LOL at the scene where Dan and Serena are in the taxi and she's changing in the back of the car and the driver is looking at her and Dan is all, 'Hey man, keep your eyes on the road and hands off my former-girlfriend.' XD
● OMG, NATE AND BLAIR BROKE UP. SADDEST SCENE EVER.
I don't know, I liked NB in season 2, so it kinda made me sad that they broke up during prom. It's such a sad scene. They hold onto each other and keep dancing slowly while Blair says all those sad things about Nate being her first love and how she's wanted to go to prom with him since she was 5. And then they kiss. Their last kiss. It actually made me cry.
● THE ENDING. BEST ENDING EVER.
It's just so epic. Also, TOTAL BLEIGHTON/WALDSEN MOMENT. I just love how the last scene is always switching back and forth between Blair and Serena and Lily and Carol. Because Lily and Carol are sisters who feel like they're best friends and Blair and Serena are best friends who feel like sisters. Loved the contrast between the present and the past. I think the writers actually did a great job on this episode.
And then, the dialogues. They're... just... so perfect. And heart-breaking, too.
Serena: "Right now I'm with exactly who I want to be with. My best friend."
Lily: "I've learned some things last night... the biggest one being... that I've really missed you."
Serena: "You are high school to me. All the boyfriends, and mean girls, and tests, and teachers and our crazy mothers. We... we went through it together. We were raised to each other. *pause* ...You're my sister."
*Blair smiles and OMG, it's one of the most beautiful smiles ever!*
Not to mention Gossip Girl's last monologue:
"Shoulder pads may come and go, but a BFF is forever. Because even when you're not sure where you're headed, it helps to know that you're not going there alone. No one has all the answers. Sometimes, the best we can do is just apologize and let the past be the past. Other times, we need to look to the future and know that even when we think we've seen it all, life can still surprise us and we can still surprise ourselves.
