So, school starts back up for me this Monday and I have to say I'm pretty excited. I'm taking two online classes, one with a professor I had last semester who was absolutely wonderful (the class is Designing Web Pages). My other online class is Classical Religions of Mythology. Now alot of these classes vary based on the professor and what their interpretation of certain classes are. I'm hoping mine will not narrow himself to just Roman and Greek mythologies, but I do know for a fact that he is using Joseph Campbell books for the course, and I have a lot of respect for Joseph Campbell so hopefully it will work ot well. I'm also taking a Wine Technology class and while it may not be the course I thought it was, it should still have a lot of interesting things that I'll learn about. The final two classes I have are a Creative Writing course. This is a no brainer and should be relatively easy and good for getting creative ideas for this years NaNoWriMo. The final course is The Short Novel which will require a healthy amount of reading I hope but should be interesting enough and hopefully will require me to read books I have not previously read.
With regards to scholarship, for the past year I have been on the Florida Bright Future's Medallion scholarship which is roughly 75% tuition. Well, it turns out my grades last year and specifically last spring were so amazing that I was able to bring my GPA up high enough to requalify for Florida Bright Future's Academics, which is roughly 100% of my tuition paid for. This is wonderful news because it means my grants and such can go to important things like books and my loans will help pay of my car (via my credit card). By the end of this year I fully expect to be out of credit card debt. My loans should only be my student loans and the couch I financed with Marc. This is super exciting because I have been mired in credit card debt since July of 2007 or so. It will be very satisfying to have the nasty credit cards paid off. Additionally, Marc should also have all of his debt except for his car managed and paid off as well so we'll be in great position to actually move out of this apartment and look for a home in wherever our dream city is.
Things are really looking up and I'm starting to be super happy. I can't wait for school!
