Long time no write, 🤩
My impression of #weare.
Disclaimer: is my own view. Do I need to make a disclaimer to express myself? Seems at this time, I don’t have another choice. Feel annoyed at my thinking, just scroll down to live your life, easy. I don’t swear to yourself or your friend, so chill a bit.
That was the last time of Jun as STARTO, and the new STARTO line up.
I have many emotions of how they should start and at the same time a bit sad of the feeling of re- start.
If you perhaps have read my previous post, know what I mean for the talents to re-start.
From Jun, I’m sure of what he is capable of doing at Arashi concerts and the previous Johnny's fes.
As for Okura, I only know his “abilities” through Naniwa's concerts.
Saying this, I will compare “Johnny’s fes” with “WE ARE! Let's get the party STARTO!!”:
I know I already posted something about the “johnny's countdown”, but through new revelations about the management, there's no comparison between them. The main reason is that Kinki themselves or Kinki staff have been directing that special concert for about 20 years, like Nakai said that one “the zoo”.
Since JK died in 2019, many talents have withdrawn from the agency: so even at the end of song V6 and Yamapi were already retired. Something happened too with the close of Johnnys, many other talents have retired. So, there’s a point in common.
FIRST- SONGS
I made a chart of what songs they performed:
J's FES
STARTO:
The thing I noticed, only AEgroup (debuted this year) has a song for this 2024. All the others have songs in the line 2020-2023 (mostly). And I have a special question for the groups I follow, what about the debut songs in that time span? like Sixtones, Snowman, Naniwa…
Another difference is the amount of songs completed Snowman and HSJ had at least the 3 minutes of the song.
* For Sixtones I will say the 3 songs: kokkara (single, june 2023), abarero (single april 2023), and whip that (city album 2022). What happened in 2024?. IDK
Some fans of HSJ have already criticized the “air time” of the group. And the big difference is the presentations they have in comparison with TJ and K&P. Those groups are way too kohai groups to have “center” presentations. I kinda understand that.
Although, Im a ST fan lately, I have to say they didn’t sing any collaboration with other groups, SM and ST had their own 3 songs separately and at the same time they didn’t have to sing with another group until the very end.
For the MC:
I already have those kinds of festivals in my own country. The thing is they are really organized already to get one MC, so there’s no need. I’m seeing this with the Japanese context.
So, at the J's FES, it seems that what brought everyone together was Kinki's anniversary.
I thought that if Okura is the one who can perform and direct, he should do some MCing. At least one of his group, the newly named supereight.
Also they have the chance to give the mic to one of the oldest talents of “20th century”.
Indeed, this time it looked more like a zoo, without a concret direction.
About the set:
The set was pretty simple and it was easier to do the transitions. Something was really off in the live show was the camera focus. They didn't catch the important part of choreos or some wink or special kiss blow to the camera.
They tried to fix it on the reviewed stream.
As far I see it doesn't come with major changes.
Conclusion: I was good, but not like I was expecting. Nothing to do with a new beginning
