Katelyn lived on Staten Island, and her parents were still in uptown Manhattan - two of the areas most affected by the incoming high tides - and she was worried. With good reason, she told herself

When Remy got back to his room in the morning with a carafe of coffee, a plate of scrambled eggs, and a couple bagels, Haylie was gone

Haylie jumped a little in surprise, accidentally blowing up one of the bushes. "Remy!"

She calmed down and ran a hand through her hair. "You surprised me... You-- you didn't do anythin' wrong. I was running late - I had a meeting with Charles I forgot about. Kinda thought I was the one who did somethin' wrong."

"naw, sorry about that, I just thought breakfast would be nice. Wasn't really thinking with anything other than my stomach"

He chuckles for a second.

"Relax chere, maybe the coffee wasn't such a good idea."

He smirks and his eye sparkle as he pushes the rest of the way through the bushes.

"Well, thank you. I appreciate the notion." When she sees the sparkle in his eye she blinks and smiles at him, curious. "Somethin' on ya mind there, bello?"

He closes the gap between them, sitting down beside her with one knee up, propping his elbow on it and slipping his arm around her waist. He smirks as he leans in close to her speaking quietly.

"usually am, but this time was fairly innocent. Was just a really nice sight, you here with all the plants and flowers, seemed really right somehow is all."

Haylie blinked when he sat beside her and pulled her close. A faint blush crept across her cheeks as she looked up at him. "Umm... thanks. I was just talkin' to them. They like the company. Helps me clear my thoughts."

"So what kind of thoughts need clearin'?"

She looked down and fidgeted with her hands. "The kind that involve... you." She replied quietly.

well that can't be too bad, unless there's a problem somehow..."

He tilts his head and looks into her eyes

"Not a bad thing. I just... am finding myself hopelessly attracted to you."

[acesupyersleeve]

"well I wouldn't say thats a bad thing. Definitely in my favor anyways. Besides, I am finding you pretty iresistable too."

He leans in and softly kisses her.

She closes her eyes, kissing him back. "Remy... this is probably too soon to ask but... what is this?"

"Not entirely sure, all I know is that I am enjoying it. I like your company, I definitely think you should get out more, and I am liking the fact that I aint spending time trying to figure what exactly what you mean when you say somethin. This mornin excluded of course." With that he chuckles

She smiled sheepishly at him. "I'm sorry, Remy. Sometimes I get so rushed that I forget common sense." Haylie shifted to face him and reached up, brushing her fingertips along the side of his face. "I like whatever this is."

"Yeah, me too"

He turns his to kiss her palm

She leaned in, hands resting on his knees as she kissed him softly, slowly, letting herself get lost in his lips.
