Adjusting her black leather X-Man uniform, Haylie looked over the Danger Room while Jubilee got the settings adjusted for her to start. She pulled her long brown hair back into a messy bun and began to stretch, bending over to touch her toes with ease. She always trained in black combat boots that had four-inch heels - because if you could fight in heels you were prepared for anything in her mind - and her uniform. Because, well, she'd burned too many of her own clothes training. Hope had somehow engineered an X-suit capable of handling her elevated body temperature.
The doors were locked - unbeknownst to Haylie - leaving her with a visitor in the form of Gambit locked in the room with her. Touching her headset, Haylie glanced up at the control panel that sat atop the room blocked off with reinforced glass panels. "Initiate Sentinel sequence - level 4."
"Prof, ya sure 'bout that? That's a little high, even for you." Jubilee's voice came through the loud speaker.
"Jubilee, just run the simulator. Either we do this and get rid of the damn tingling in my body that's been stored up for the last week or I blow the entire state of New York into oblivion."
"Alright, alright. Geez, Spitshine, ya always gotta get so doom-and-gloom on me?"
Haylie just smiled and rolled her eyes, shifting into a defensive position when the simulator went to work, sending three large Sentinels out with liquid nitrogen cannons at the ready. She'd admire the computer's ability to adapt to her powers later. Feeling the heat encompassing her body, Haylie spread her fingers out and charged at the first Sentinel. She leapt high up, almost twenty feet in one bound and latched onto the Sentinel's waist, planting her palms firmly against its metal shell. Before it could react, it whirred mechanically and disintegrated entirely, leaving nothing but a fine ash coating the air while Haylie landed on her feet.
