You can download the new version of Ubuntu here: Download Ubuntu

It's also possible to install Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope with Wubi if you like me isn't able to part with Windows XP yet. Wubi is an Ubuntu installer for Windows who installs Ubuntu as any a Windows application which you are able to uninstall like any other Windows application (if you find out that Ubuntu isn't for you).

I tried Ubuntu for the first time about a week ago (with Wubi) since I have had lot's of problems with Windows lately. And I have to say that I am really impressed! I have always thought that Linux was very difficult to use and that I had to know a lot more programming than I already do to manage to use it. In short you can say that I was really wrong. Ubuntu is really easy to use and I really like that I are able to customise almost everything (that's why I like Firefox also by the way, so that Firefox is Linux default web browser is just perfect for me) ^^

To make everything short (so you don't have to read to much boring things about my Linux Awakening) I will just make a list to show you the upsides and downsides I have experienced this far with using Linux:

We Like that Ubuntu....
+ Is free
+ Is easy to customise in almost every way
+ Is able to run Windows applications like Notepad++ and Spotify with programs like Wine (in short the program tricks the windows applications to believe that they are run with Windows)
+ Have GIMP as their default image (I know people say that Photoshop (you can run Photoshop on Ubuntu with Wine by the way) is better, but I have always preferred GIMP as it suits me the best)
+ Uses Firefox as it's default browser (Yey! ^^)
+ Have lots of fancy animations and that we are able to turn them of if we want to
+ Doesn't use that much space on your computer so you are able to use that space to something else that the OS
+ Have a super cute mascot like Firefox <3 (It doesn't make Linux work better, but I still had to ad it :P)

We hate that Ubuntu....
- Is a bit difficult when it comes to installing programs that are not in Ubuntu's Add/Remove list
- Doesn't store your settings, files and programs when your upgrading to a newer version (I hate that with Windows too by the way)
- Isn't able to run every Windows application
- Because we miss Windows Movie Maker (and that I haven't found a video editing program I like yet, so that's why I aren't able to part with Windows yet... I know that WMM crashes a lot but I still like it because of it simpleness)
