Why did you get this book?
It's the second in the series

Was the author new to you?
Nope.

Would you read something by this author again?
I'm definitely reading book 3...and whatever else comes along afterward

Are you keeping it or passing it on?
Keeping

Book Description:
Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind.

But this new vampire is hardly ordinary-and neither is the demon inside of him. (bn.com)

What did you think of the book?
I liked this one better. I'm not sure why. Perhaps because there was more Stefan. Despite Mercy's (and everyone else's) belief that vamps are purely evil, I liked him even more once this book was over. Of course, the fact that he's interested in her romantically puts me on edge...because I can see how this could end up just as horrifically as the Anita Blake series.

I guess we had to deal with more of Stefan in exchange for less of Jesse. Also, while Warren and Kyle were definitely IN the book, they weren't staples.

I can't help that I love Adam. He's willing to allow Mercy to play dominant to him...which, according to Mercy, is a huge thing. Maybe the reason I like him better than Samuel is because I'm biased. After all, Samuel broke Mercy's heart once. I think, though, that Adam is just the better choice of the two. He's the one who really "gets" Mercy. Samuel may love her, but he doesn't really understand her the way Adam does.

I liked that Mercy was not a cold-blooded killer in the end of this book. She regretted killing Andre, even though she knew it needed to be done.

Oh! And the little mini-romance between Jesse and Gabriel is so adorable. I really like that boy.

I'm getting sucked into this series and can't seem to stop. :) Not that I mind...it's just that, pretty soon, I'm going to have trouble keeping track of all the ongoing series' I'm reading. *headdesk* Of course, that's not going to stop me...I'm running off to start book 3 right now! :-p

Would you recommend this book?
Oh yes.
