Thanks! The next chapter won't be sad...well, that probably depends on your definition of sad, but I don't think it will make anyone cry. ;) Then again, I hadn't planned on making this chapter sad in the beginning either, so who knows? But I want to get through all the sad and/or uncomfortable stuff so I can get to happy Alex/Liv again!

Oh, and I'm already working on the next chapter of Nichya. :D It's nice to be able to work on both because when one story is sad, I can bounce back by writing happy tales in the other.

Oh wow. I am loving this so much.

[And you've written Christina and Cheryl perfectly!]

Thanks! :D

Haha, I love Cheryl. She had me laughing every single time she was on the screen. The actress who plays her has been on Criminal Intent, the mothership, and a few other shows, but the best character she did was definitely Cheryl.

And I love Christina, too. She's so adorable! Whenever I watch Criminal Intent and see her on there, I'm like "NO! SHE'S NOT A COP! SHE'S AN ADA!"

Christina is ADORABLE. She's so cute, and she has such a girl-crush on Alex. She's always so happy when Alex supports her.

Cheryl is great. She just rolls her eyes and doesn't take crap from anyone.

Actually, the only character on Conviction that I don't like (well, other than Robert) is Jessica.

I love all the characters, even Jessica. She and Alex are very similar in their personalities and the way they strive to get justice for victims without taking anything from the perps, although Jessica comes off as sometimes petulant and immature in her anger. They both aren't afraid to go after what they want, but Jessica tends to whine when she doesn't get her way and she lets emotion cloud her judgment. But I like that component to her because otherwise, she would've just been an Alex 2.0 with a different backstory, and that wasn't needed. Other than those differences, between SVU and Conviction, there are several parallels between Jessica's behavior/personality and Alex's in the way they handle cases. There are times when Alex used to defy her superiors for the sake of victims just like Jessica does. I think that's one of the reasons Alex was kind to Jessica in later eps of Conviction; she realized that in many ways, she and Jessica were alike and she grew to respect her for that reason. Even when she admonished her in ( ... )

Aww, I'm sorry! I was totally crying when I wrote this, too, if that's any consolation. But don't worry! There will be happy times ahead, even if they aren't immediately together again at first. :D I think Alex and Liv are one of those couples that are together even when they're in relationships with other people because they own each other's hearts, so I want my story to reflect that instead of having them together at the beginning and never speaking again until some big plot turn brings them together in the end.

Aww, I'm sorry! Yeah, social standards regarding homophobia really piss me off. I know too many people who are closeted and it's horrible that a country that prides itself on some abstract notion of freedom really entraps so many of its citizens. I don't expect all human beings to drop their prejudices, but I do expect not to have to face prejudice in the laws.
