The Weekend In Brief

Jun 21, 2010 07:50

I originally had no plans whatsoever for this weekend (which is nice once in a while, but I had had several weekends of this already and wanted to socialize).

Plans changed and I had the chance to enjoy lunch with votishal on Saturday afternoon at the Cheesecake Factory. And yes, I had a huge piece of cheesecake. It was the low-carb cheesecake made with Splenda, so I don't feel so terrible :)

That evening, childeofthesun and I drove over to attend Veek's 30th Birthday party. It was at a home in Arlington that is, while very unassuming on the outside, absolutely magnificent on the inside. They have converted one of the downstairs rooms into a Tiki Lounge with an amazingly well-stocked bar. They also have set up something called The Drink-A-Tron 3000, which keeps tracks of recipes, who has consumed what, and keeps a leader board as to who has consumed the most alcohol. Additionally, there is a gaming console that has every single arcade game you can think of. Mike Jarvis and I squared off against each other for Ms. Pac Man, Donkey Kong, and Donkey Kong Jr.

On Sunday, I lounged about the house while the fence in back was finally finished by the workmen (it only took them about nine months). We had some friends over to watch True Blood and eat Chinese food, which was fun.

Crashed early and now I'm here at work.
