I
Accumulated expenses to date dealing with smelly rug:
(Def. "smelly": (1) old, wet dog; (2) throw-up; (3) anything that makes your nose wrinkle upon contact with it.)
$200 to purchase rug cleaning machine from Lowe's.
$15 to purchase additional bottle of rug shampoo, having used up the very small "sample" bottle that came with the machine.
$2 for a gallon jug of vinegar to use when the lovely smelling rug shampoo could not break through the smell.
$250 to pay for professional cleaning of smelly rug after admitting defeat with lay solutions.
$50 to pay for additional deodorizing after initial professional cleaning did not overpower the smell.
$6.99 for a container of Glade Rug Deodorizer Spring Blossom, full of promise and hope!
Current standing of smelly rug:
Overdose of Glade Rug Deodorizer Spring Blossom causes massive headache and Spring Blossom smell to radiate out doors to driveway 100' away, where it actually does smell lovely from that distance!
Why, one could ask, must the smelly rug not be thrown away, having cost nothing to purchase? Why indeed.
Sigh.
