Of Sick Ramblings, Catching Up, Work, Movies, and Tea

*goggles at the previous post* Wow, I should carefully read my entries before posting them to my LJ when I'm sick. My fingers are itching to fix the ridiculous typos ("thing" instead of "think" is particularly egregious), but I think I will leave them to serve as a reminder to be more careful.

I'm feeling so much better now and I definitely needed those sick days away from work. I was given the rest of the week off technically, but I was able to do a lot of work from home. I went to the office yesterday (Sunday) and worked almost the whole day. Now I don't have to go back until tomorrow (Tuesday). Yay!

I'm still typing up my Vegas post; haven't had time to download the pics from my camera and I do want to share some when I post. Mother's Day weekend with my family was great. I was going to take my mom on a weekend road trip, but since it was so close to the Vegas trip we decided to stay local. My mom and I went to San Francisco on that Friday. We went shopping in Union Square, had lunch at the Cheesecake Factory on top of the Macy's building, got bread from my favorite bakery, and then went to see Fast Five at the Metreon IMAX. Saturday we went to the spa for massages and Mom also had a salt scrub. On Sunday, I took my parents out for a steak dinner. My mom thoroughly enjoyed her weekend and I'm glad because I felt bad about not taking her out on that road trip.

A few days ago, I saw Thor at the IMAX in Dublin. I was not a Thor fan until I saw the movie. The film is typical of others in the super hero genre, but I liked the actors (*fangirls Chris Hemsworth*) and spectacular 3D effects, especially on the IMAX screen. Was happy my friends arm twisted convinced me to go with them. :)

Also tried Tazo's Wild Sweet Orange tea for the first time when I was sick. It was wonderfully fragrant and soothing on my throat when served hot. It did have this weird tangy aftertaste I tasted after every sip, but I liked it for the most part. I, however, prefer iced tea and it was horribly disappointing. I steeped it longer than directed because I like strong tea, but it was so watery and bland. I guess I'll have to reserve this for hot tea. So disappointing since I love Tazo's Zen blend of green tea with lemongrass and spearmint in both hot and iced forms.
