Otakon '08 Update: Day 1
So we woke up at 5 AM today, to get our cosplays on. Gretchen's hair failed miserably to be molded into Roxas-like hair. So we left it down. My prosthetic scar didn't work too well, so we ended up stopping by the local Weis Markets in almost full cosplay to pick up some brown eyeliner to draw a scar on my cheek.
We found a lot of cool cosplayers (it seems the quality of Axel cosplays have gone way up, as there were very many good ones). We even managed to find two Captain Hammer cosplayers and a Dr. Horrible. That made my day. We sang "A Man's Gotta Do" to the second Hammer we found and he started singing along. I got my picture taken four times (not counting the countless pictures I'm in thanks to the KH Photoshoot, man that was fun).
The KH photoshoot was awesome. It rapidly devolved into people shouting out random pairings (AkuRoku and Zemyx being the first two) and all people as those pairings went forward (I was disappointed that no one called out XigDem). Mel was the one of two Marluxias (perhaps you saw her, she was carrying around a bright pink flower).
Today I bought two pins (a green Nobody symbol and a 'Pestilence' from (http://www.inhislikeness.com/)), a T-shirt that has 'Demyx' and '9' on the back and 'Organization XIII' on the front, and a yaoi manga called Blue Sky.
Tomorrow I plan to buy this really pretty Chinese-style dress, a pair of goggles of some kind (if I can find Dr. Horrible goggles, all the better), several more manga, possibly a Piplup or Empoleon plushie, and a shirt I saw with the DaiGurren Brigade symbol on one side and Simon's core drill on the other. I also plan on watching the airings of TTGL episodes 6-9 from, like, 11:30 to 1 pm.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I can no longer feel my legs from the knees down, but my heels seem to be on fire.
