So, for all you who haven't heard, about 200 acres of west Flagstaff is still on fire. A handful of our friends who've been evacuated are crashing at our place, waiting for news (they weren't able to get to their house in time to get their pets out before the evacuation started), and the fire is about 3000 feet away from their front door. It's been kind of tense since last night, but it looks like it's under control, for now.
I haven't slept in a while... not that it's any fault of our poor refugees, or even the sneeze-inducing blanket of smoke covering town. I just didn't get sleepy last night, so I read until I heard other people getting up. Insomnia is great! But I'm starting to get loopy. I'm blurting things I would never say normally. ^_^ And my eyes are burning. Bleh.
So I'm at work much earlier than usual. Meanwhile, downstairs, Sheldon trains to become front--of-house manager of this place.
Man... life seems awfully surreal, lately.
