Guarin had been hanging around in the doorway for some time. When Javier finally turned to him, Fredy slammed a heavy box down on the desk and said triumphantly, “We got it, boss.”
Javier opened the box with increasing confusion, followed by disgust. Inside was a large glass jar containing, unmistakably, an adult human brain. It bobbed up and down in the fluid a little, just to revolt him further.
“Just like you wanted,” Guarin beamed.
Zanetti sat down very slowly, wondering if this team really had a future. “Fredy. I said to remove his braid.”
“Oh,” said Fredy. “Oops.”
