The bench at the sea
Chapter 1
“Ueda? Would you go and tell NewS the news, please?”, Junno asked with a big grin because he was laughing about his own wordplay.
“Oh no! Why am I the unhappy one? Today’s a real bad day for me. Please, could somebody else go instead of me?”, grumped Ueda.
“If today’s a bad day for you, then it makes no difference if it’s get a little more bad, does it?”, Koki asked with a large smirk.
“Okay, okay, I’m going. Thank you, you are very sensitive”, Ueda said ironic and stood up from his armchair.
“Should I come with you?”, asked Kame friendly and smiled lightly at Ueda.
Ueda smiled back. “No, Kame, thank you, I think I can manage to go alone”, Ueda answered.
Ueda noticed that Kame looked a bit disappointed. But why should Kame come with him to the room of NewS? It wasn’t a big deal.
He went through the big lounge of KAT-TUN, opened the door nearly soundless and closed the door in the same way.
He walked down the corridor slowly and stopped four doors later in front of the sign with ‘NewS’ on it. He knocked not immediately but he listened. He couldn’t hear anything. Wasn’t there anybody in the room? Ueda knocked quickly at the door before he opened it. He took a fast look in the room and entered. It seemed to be empty. But Ueda could feel a gaze on his body. Slowly he looked around again and then he noticed Ryo who was sitting on a sofa and held a magazine.
Ryo! Why does it have to be Ryo!? There are five other members in NewS and why is only Ryo here? Ueda felt that he got nervous.
“Where are the others?”, he asked.
“Oh Ueda. It would be nice to say ‘Hello’ first. I can’t remember that we already met today, so I would appreciate it if you greet me next time.”
Ueda’s eyes got cold. Why does Ryo always behave like someone who knows all beter than himself?
“I asked you a question, Ryo.”
“Oh, you’re not polite today, Ueda. I am not okay with this. You are the secondary-eldest of KAT-TUN, aren’t you? You have to be an ideal for the others. But to answer your question:
The others are going to have lunch now.”
“And you are still here?” After Ueda had asked, he registered the unfriendliness in his sentence.
Ryo’s face, what has ironic smiled all the time, looked now rough.
“You wish that I would have gone with them, don’t you? Damn, who do you think you are? Come here and ask me why I am here. I have the right to be in this room. And you? Actually, why are you here, Ueda? You wanted to visit me?”
Ueda was speechless for a moment. Then he found the right words to say why he was there. He took a deep breath before he began to talk to Ryo.
“Johnny-san said that .. anno .. “
“Ueda, get the point!”
“He said that NewS will have to work on during your free days. I’m sorry, but that’s what he just said. You don’t will have any leisure time like provided. He said that you all have to go to the studio and also that you have to do more workout.”
“WHAT? That can’t be! I already planned my next days! I wanted to go with friends .. Ueda, you are a jinx!”, Ryo called out while he stood up from the sofa.
Ueda headed some steps back towards the closed door. He was afraid of Ryo who was really angry about what Ueda just had said.
“But .. Ryo .. I mean .. that’s not my fault! You couldn’t blame me for …”
Ryo stepped forward and pointed at Ueda.
“Oh, you want to say that it’s my fault!? You are so bad! You are just so bad!”
“No! No .. Ryo ..! I can’t help it! What should I do? Tell me!”, Ueda’s voice shivered. He could feel how the tears stood in his eyes. But he would not cry. Not in front of Ryo.
“Just go out of my sight, Ueda. You ruined my day. You just have ruined my next days!”
Ryo looked him straight in the eyes.
Ueda quickly turned around, opened the door and shut it with a big bang. Tears were streaming down his face and he just couldn’t stop to cry. Ueda’s legs shook and it was hard for him to walk back to the room of KAT-TUN.

Ryo stood in the middle of the empty room. Nobody was there except him. When he normally argued with Ueda, he felt nothing and afterwards he was more balanced with his feeling than before. But at the moment, he just felt bad. Ueda had a point. He was so right. Ryo couldn’t blame Ueda for something that had nothing to do with the sensitive Ueda. Why did he do it then? Why did he blame Ueda for his own fault?
Ryo shook his heard hard. No, nobody, not even Ueda deserved an excuse of Nishikido Ryo. Nobody.
Ryo sat down again on the sofa and picked up the magazine he read before. But the sofa seemed very uncomfortable. Ryo couldn’t sit calm for a minute. And the stuff in the magazine was so mega-uninteresting. Who would want to know, how you are dressed right for a romantic date?
Ryo threw the magazine on the ground. Then he stood up quickly and rushed out of the door. The door closed with a big bang again.
Ryo walked down the corridor with fast footsteps until he stood in front of the KAT-TUN doorway. He listened a moment. All he could here was a crying Ueda. Ryo felt not sorry. No. He got angry again as he heard the sobs of Ueda.
