I've wanted to go vegan for some time, and the only thing that has really held me back is that I love going out to dinner (when I can afford it). Eating should be a big social experience enjoyed with lots of wine and good friends, and having been a pescatarian for some time, I've always had a huge chip on my shoulder about how limited my options ( Read more... )

Yeah, I'm sure you're right. What concerns me is that the area I live in isn't really geared towards alternative lifestyles! Plus I used to live with a vegan at uni and it seems like theres a hell of a lot of research that goes into sticking to it properly!

Ooh I hadn't thought about the Thai thing, though! Maybe I'll just live off that!

Haha! Don't worry, dairy's not my problem, the only dairy I ever eat is in cheese, of which there are plenty of vegan alternatives, so I'm not too worried baout that. Like I said, what I'm really concerned about is my attachment to fish! But then all I need to do is research the fishing industry and that'll keep me away from it!

3 years is longer than anyone I've met! I'm impressed!

My friend told me that the best thing about being a vegan is that your cooking just HAS to improve, because obviously its pretty hard to find a vegan ready meal! Would you say thats true? I'm so crap at cooking it would definitely be nice to be forced off my arse to do it more!
