The internet has proven once again that idiots exist

I'm supposed to be getting ready for work, but I thought I'd rant so I can forget about this whole stupidity and focus on work the moment I reach the office.

So some random anonymous person on the internet (who so lovingly called herself/himself a Wicked lover) has accused my ES21 fanfic, which was semi-inspired by Wicked, The Musical, of being plagiaristic and unoriginal, and that I merely used the script and put different names on it.

Really, random person on the internet? Really? Well, seeing as you only reviewed the prologue I can see where your ignorance lies. Did you read a few lines of the prologue and instantly judged me based on that? Have you ever thought, just for a teeny-weeny moment, to read a few chapters before making such a ridiculous claim? Or has your love for Wicked blinded you from trying to see any other form of changes I made? Because from what I can tell, apart from a few very minor moments in the story, most of it is NOTHING like Wicked. Heck, there's even no set Elphaba or Galinda! You've got to be fucking kidding me! And you think I'm plagiarising?

And you think I'm unoriginal? Seriously? A LOT of stories out there are far from original. Just read most fanfics. Heck, go check out some movies! You call them original? A LOT of stories out there are inspired by OTHER stories. WICKED THE MUSICAL WAS BASED ON A FUCKING FANFIC FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! People would easily cry it as unoriginal just because it used a set of characters from before! Wanna accuse me of something? How about copyright infringement for using someone else's characters? Oh wait, the creators of Wicked did the same exact thing.

*sighs* It seems that almost every fanwork I do, someone out there would misunderstand me and accuse me of something. The only good I can see from this is that at least I'm willing to do something no one else has done before. The Wicked may not be that original, but I'd like to think it was creative enough. People can judge me all they want based on that, but I did something they'd never do. So go on and judge me, anonymous people from the internet. Your ignorance is laughable at best.
