Anime review: Higashi no Eden
So as I was desperate to watch some new animes, I decided that I'd watch Higashi no Eden (or Eden of the East) after seeing a couple of images of the two main characters on Gaia (which caught my eye cause they look like Morita and Yamada from Honey and Clover).
OMG THIS ANIME IS AWESOME. Had me hooked from the first episode. I've been desperate for something interesting, mysterious yet nothing too serious. I tried watching Umineko no Naku Koro ni but that anime annoyed me, especially with one of the characters, and lacks a certain charm to it compared to Higurashi no Naku Koro ni. It was just a pretty boring anime to watch after a long day of work.
But OMG Higashi no Eden is just pure win. The characters are interesting, the storyline just draws you in (though it has links to The Bourne Identity but I wouldn't know cause I never watched that), and the OP and ED songs? AWESOME. I love the fact that they used Oasis as their opening, especially since it fits so incredibly well with the anime. And the ED is done by School Food Punishment and as its a female fronted band, I think I may have found a new band to check out. 8D That song is, without a doubt, just as awesome. (I'm running out of words to describe this anime. SO MUCH AWESOME)
Overall, a highly recommended anime. The only frustration is that there is no proper ending for the anime, but the story continues in two movies which will only be released in Japanese theaters in December and January. SO it'll probably be a while before we can actually see it. But oh gosh, I can imagine it'd be so worth it. 8D
