The Storm is over...
Actually...the there is a storm currently on top of us (it's pouring cows and horses..that's how hard it is raining here)....but I"m talking about a different "storm". School!!! Yep, this is the last week of school. Graduation was yesterday (the kids sang R. Kelly's "The Storm is Over" for graduation)...last assembly was supposed to be today (but it rained all day)....tomorrow is party or trip day...and friday is enrichment lunch day for the teacher (an I'm one of them!). So I wiggled my way onto the standard six field trip to Lamanai tomorrow. I'm excited!!! This would be my second time going to the Mayan Ruins. Yippee. I"m just hoping that the weather is good..because it's never good when it's pouring rain and the bus is going over not-so-well-paved roads, or climbing on slippery Mayan Ruins. So I hope the weather will be better tomorrow.
Other than that...my parents are coming to visit me on Saturday! WOOO HOOOOO!I'm looking forward to seeing them and touring more of the country (weather-willing).
hum..what else....not much except that I'm finding that I actually have time here to experimentally cook. I recently attempted to make a "mango salsa"...and my friend said that it was GOOD! Then the other day I messed up a curry chicken receipe (but it wasn't my fault because they wrote one extra step that wasnt' supposed to be in the receipe- "add 8 cups of water"- that made some tasteless curry soup). And I tried finally tried my hand in cooking this "belizean" soup, "Avocado and Chicken soup". I was soo excited about it because it had chicken, avocado (my favorite), and cheese in the receipe. BUT, sadly, it had a bitter after taste! :( BOOOOOOO. that totally sucked because now i have a pot of soup that i really don't want to finish. (but i will because the chicken is still good. I think i put in an avocado that wasn't exactly ripe yet).
And i'm considering this day to be a good one because the computer lab is open (YAHOO!) I'm never sure when the computer lab is open.
anyway, I hope you all are doing well. please let me know what you guys are up too..and what you have planned for this summer.
