I May Never Come Back!

Wasted (?) almost a day in Second LIfe yesterday.  Got stuck in a wall, spent way too much time updating my AV, and then got lost in a scary dark place with a guy in black clothing and white dreds, and was finally rescued by a nice guy named Brad.  Can't wait to go back!

Thursday night:  Ellen's Pot Roast, noodles and mixed vegetables.  Comfort food.  With a 2003 Imagery Wow! Red.  Nice blend they update every year.  If you haven't tried Imagery (which you may not have unless you've ever been there -- they only sell it at the winery, or through their wine club) I'd give it a go -- we have liked every single bottle that we've ever had of theirs.  The Wow! Red is a blend the winemaster creates every year from different grapes -- the 2003 was particularly nice.

Friday night:  Dinner at The Duck and Dumpling in downtown Raleigh -- a fabulous upscale pan-Asian place, .  I had the lettuce wraps, filled with very spicy chicken, peppers and pine nuts and then thin sliced duck breast with a cherry zinfandel reduction, served with roasted sweet potatoes slices and baby bok choy.  Jim had Dave's Dumplings (Dave is the Vietnamese born-in-China chef -- great guy) and the Rib in hoisin sauce.  Fabulous stuff.  Had a great bottle of California Cab Franc with a 14.8 alcohol level that I can't remember the winery -- Jim was driving so I got to finish the bottle -- I'll have to find out from them what it was.  I should have written it down!

Dinner followed by an evening of The Temptations backed by the NC Symphony.  Interesting.  Very scripted and choreographed -- no real interaction with the audience at all.  Oh well.  Only one of the guy is an original, after all.  I think they probably always performed this way.
