guess what everyone! people want to live with me next year! this is very exciting because my housing for next year had been very up in the air until now.
see, georgetown is a very stupid school. i already have to register for my housing for next year. that sucks. it's mostly because the university screwed up last year and told too many students they didn't have room to house them and wound up with half a building empty. stupid school. so this year we have to decide really early. and if you are living off campus, you need to get a house in the fall for the next year because they go fast.
well, i had a problem with housing for next year because i knew that i didn't want to live with ashley again and trisha needs to be an RA so i couldn't live with her. trisha's good friend katharine who i know from this summer was trying to get a house off campus with her senior friends and wanted me to live with them but since i'm going abroad for half the year next year, it would be annoying for everyone else for me to pay rent for 3 months and then leave. so then katharine found a house, and said i could live with them if one of the people living there now doesn't stay. so i never if there would be a place for me.
but then, i was just sitting around in trisha's room (my room) tonight when this random person knocked at the door. i answered it and the person started talking to me. she is my friend kerry's roommate (whom i had met once before). she said (her name is erin) that she and kerry and some other girl were looking for a fourth person to sign up for housing with. and they want me!!!
this is so exciting. see, my whole plan in the housing department had been to sit around and wait for someone like this to ask me and make no effort of my own. and my plan actually worked! i feel so relieved now!
my roommate just told me that cursing and saying oh my god is wrong. wtf? (i need to stop stealing stacy's phrase)
so, the way the housing selection process works is that hopefully the four of us will be granted an apartment. if that happens, we are giving a pick number and then at a certain we can choose from the apartments that are left. for housing the lottery, students sign up in groups of 1, 2, or 4 for housing picks so in order to sign up for housing, you need a set number of people.
leah is very happy. and even if we don't get an apartment, i still had mutiple people that wanted to live with me. that is what really matters: feeling loved and wanted
