Habemam Thema
Sorry for the weird title, but I finally made an approach to talk about my bachelor thesis with one of my lecturers. And it seems I got the one I wished for! <3
I am not only allowed to write about the Sudarium in Bonn cathedral, but it is also a topic my lecturer is especially interested in!
She offered not only to help me with everything I would need for this topic, even if I choose someone else as supervisor (is that the right word btw?) , she also offered me to make contact to other people who could be of help with this.
It seems that this topic is a current problem, so my thesis would even be of importance and she said she could even think of making a small Publication out of it.
Wow!
I am a bit afraid because I noticed that she really pin's her hope on me about writing a good thesis, since she is that interested in this topic. She said something along the lines that my piece of work could stay as a timeless contribution to a much discussed, current topic, especially since I am going to write about a new discovery. In plaintext that means not much is known about it yet and nobody else wrote a whole something dedicated to this Wall painting before me.
This is pretty much the best that can happen to someone who wants to write a thesis about something and on the same time the most difficult part too. XD
But I feel damn right honoured and lucky, that I have the chance to not only make a summary of 20 other books as my thesis, but leave something that is of actual importance. I don't remember when I had that feeling for the last time that I am doing something at University that is not pretty pointless and useless in the end.
Like you know, nobody gives a shit about all that presentations and papers you have made while these years you were a student. It is nice for you to have that knowledge you collected, but you could also have collected it and NOT made a 20 pages essay. You can either throw those pages away after you got your mark on it.
This time I could leave something that someone else might even be interested in to read! XD Feels good man! Feels very good!
And on the same time, it really frightens me too!
