3.
The 5-year old behind him kicks the seat for the millionth time gleefully and he mutters darkly to himself.
2.
The man who had fallen asleep on him at what felt like an infinity ago started to drool. Great.
"Patience. Have patience." he murmured.
1.
The PA system crackled to life and the flight attendants voice filled the plane as she told them that they may take off their seat belts, other safety precautions to follow and that hopefully they had a nice flight and would ride with them again. Jongdae scoffed. He had anything but a nice flight.
He pushed the man off his lap when he had started to stir at the loud voice. The man just fell away and flopped onto the armrest, dangling out of the chair still asleep. He shook his head in disbelief and pushed his way past him to grab his luggage. Bolting out of the plane, he made his way to customs praying that he wouldn’t have to take a plane ever again.
He turned his phone on once he made it out of customs and dialed Yixing's number. The phone rang once before it was abruptly picked up. He smiled for the first time that day and greeted his boyfriend. His smile grew bigger at that word.
"Hey." a soft voice greeted distractedly, "Do you see a red head waving a "Jongdae you owe me big" sign anywhere?"
"What?" he questioned confused, but he looked around for the sign none the less.
"Ah, that was Baekhyun's doing. I dragged Chanyeol here because he can drive. Baekhyun just wanted to make-out with him, or something along those lines. I wasn't exactly listening." Yixing babbled on, sounding less distracted as if he had found something. He probably saw something in one of the store windows.
A pair of arms encircled around his waist, a puff of air blew on his ear as a voice whispered into his ear, "Found you."
Jongdae yelped in surprise, jumping out of his hold in the process as he looked down at his phone and a grinning Yixing. Yixing. Standing right in front of him.
After talking to him through a grainy camera for all of these months (international calling is expensive and he's broke so it was never an option) Yixing was right there. He could just reach out and touch him if he flexed his hand and, oh his skin is so soft. He cupped the other cheek in his hand relishing in the feeling, had wanted to do for oh so long.
Yixing gingerly placed his arms around Jongdae and pulled him closer, burying his head into his shoulder breathing in his scent. Arms snaked around his waist and pulled him closer.
"It's great to see you, not through a grainy screen and all." he sighed happily into his shoulder.
"You." his voice cracked. "Your real." he mumbled in disbelief.
"Your real." he repeated, a bit louder. "Your really real." he repeated ecstatically.
Amused, Yixing looked at Jongdae, a smile growing on his lips.
"If you keep repeating that I'm going to think you’re broken." Yixing teased, his dimple appearing as his smile grew larger.
Jongdae poked his dimple, "It’s real."
He leaned in and placed a kiss on his dimple. Another one on his other cheek. He tiptoed and planted one his forehead. A light one on his nose.
He tilted his head to look at Yixing, eyes glimmering.
"Aren't you forgetting somewhere?" Yixing asked, eyes gleaming mischievously, as he pouted his lips. "Nope." he responded cheekily as shook his head and wormed his way out of his grip as he walked to Chanyeol (when he got there was a mystery to him) leaving him with the luggage. Yixing sighed and made his way to the tall bundle of energy and his boyfriend. Once Chanyeol spotted him he drags him to the car, as Jongdae trails behind them. Chanyeol stuffs two of the bags in the tiny trunk, one in the backseat with Jongdae forcing Yixing to sit in the front ("This way there'll be not chances of you polluting my car." he told them with a grin).
Exhausted from the flight, Jongdae falls asleep as soon as the car leaves the airport.
*******
He wakes up to Yixing gently shaking his shoulder telling him that they're home. He nods and mumbles something incoherent before a yawn cuts it off. He covers his mouth and climbs out of the car, dragging his bag with him and stumbles to the lobby of their apartment. He sees Chanyeol waiting with his bags next to the elevator and walks up to him.
"I forgot to say thanks before, for the ride and all." he mutters, words feeling heavy on his mouth, as he rubs his eye. "You didn't have to wait here either. I'm sure Baek is waiting for you. You should go." he says.
"This is my first time seeing you in like a year-". "6 months" Jongdae cuts in. "It felt longer than that, a lot longer. Now you want to kick me out? Me? As in your best friend? So you can spend some time with your boyfriend. Instead of spending it with me. I feel betrayed." Chanyeol sobs dramatically.
The elevator dings and they both turn to the sound. Chanyeol puts the two bags in and puts the keys Yixing gave to him in Jongdae's hand. He pushes him inside the elevator and waves to him. "I have to go to Baekkie now so don't forget to come by tomorrow." Chanyeol skips out the lobby happily, as if that whole scene never happened.
Jongdae shakes his head in amusement, something's never change.
The elevator doors start to close when he sees Yixing walking into the lobby so he sticks his hand out (and hopefully it doesn't get stuck in the elevator) to keep the door open for a bit longer. Yixing speeds up a bit when he sees Jongdae struggling and walks in the elevator. He leans over Jongdae, and pushes the button to their apartment. He feels Jongdae gently caressing his raven locks right when the elevator jerks up and slowly makes its way to their home. Jongdae removes his hand from the soft locks to hold Yixing’s hand and lace their finger fingers together.
"I miss your brown hair." he pouts, "Why did you get rid of it?"
"You didn't complain about the blonde." Yixing teases, "and it was taking you too long."
"You were confusing. It's not my fault" he whined.
Yixing laughed that golden laugh of his just as the elevator tinged open. Jongdae huffed and walked out once the doors opened and marched to their apartment, Yixing trailing behind him struggling with the luggage.
*******
Exhausted, Jongdae drags himself to their room and crashes onto their bed, head covered by towel, face foreword onto what looks like the pillow.
"OWW" the pillow screams as it shoves him off. "No, come back." he slurs, trying to grab the pillow, arms waving in the air. "Come here" the pillow says reluctantly, patting the spot next to him. Jongdae crawled over to Yixing and laid in his lap, letting Yixing dry his hair. He started to drift off when Yixing suddenly shifted him off his lap and stood up to put the towel away. He walked back to the bed and quickly slipped underneath the covers only to have Jongdae bury his face into his chest and fall asleep. Yixing placed a kiss on the crown of his head and soon he was asleep.

The unfortunate part of moving from one place to another isn't the jet lag, or adjusting to the new food, or the change in currency. It was moving schools.
You would be the little white sheep in the school, and at the mercy of the other students. It would be okay for the first couple of weeks. The center of attention for a couple of weeks would be drifted onto you; everyone would be gushing over you until they got bored.
The absolute worst part was waiting outside of the class as the teacher informed the class about the new student and yada yada yada. You'd be left there awkwardly in the halls until the teacher barked for you to come in and introduce yourself.
This experience was definitely the cherry topped over the sundae.
Jongdae was left standing outside of class 2-C when someone had come walking down the hall. Jongdae leaned his head over a bit to get a better look at him and his mouth flew open at what he saw.
A boy (or possibly an angel, he wasn't sure yet) that had his eyes closed while listening to whatever was playing in those earphones was coming closer. But what made his mouth drop in disbelief weren’t his features, smooth porcelain skin, those (kissable) full pink lips, that tiny dimple that appeared as he smiled at whatever was playing. It was that chestnut hair that was falling over his eyes, framing his face making it look even more delicate then it already was. It was beautiful. If only he could reach out and touch it, he sighed wistfully.
That sigh (maybe it was louder than he thought) seemed to alert the boy of his presence. He stuffed the earphones into his blazer pocket and hurried his way over to him.
He grinned at Jongdae that dimple becoming more and more prominent. He pointed to himself, "I'm Lay. What's your name?"
"Chen." he breathed out. Without any warning he was shoved the door open and stepped in dragging Chen along with him. He smiled at the teacher and gestured to Chen.
"I think you forgot him outside, so I brought him in for you. He looked like he was having a panic attack too. You should be more careful" he chided.
Chen gaped at him in horror.
The class exploded in laughter.
The teacher sighed at the late comer and pushed her glasses up to the bridge of her nose. "Thank you Eishing, I'll take it from here."
"Just call me Lay, it'll be easier on you teacher."
The teacher shook her head at her student and turned her attention to the horrified student before her.
"Why don't you introduce yourself to the class?" she suggested
Chen nodded at the teacher and turned to the classroom.
"Hi! I'm Jongdae-"
"You just told me your name was Chen!" Yixing interrupted
He sent him look telling him to shut-up-or-else and continued.
"As I was saying, my name is Jongdae or you can also call me Chen if you'd like. I came from China-"
"Ohhh. Where from?" Yixing cut in again.
"Changsha." he spit out.
"Really? I'm from there too. Did you like it there? Was it nice? How long were you there?"
"It was nice, I liked it there. I've lived there for 6 years"
"Wow, that's long. That's good to hear." he smiled at him, leaning back in his seat.
The class whipped their heads back and forth to watch the interaction between the two appalled by the sudden conversation.
"I guess that's all." Jongdae sighs.
"You can go sit at that empty desk next to Lay." said person leans onto the desk once again, flashing a bright smile at him, "I assume your well-aquatinted." the teacher adds in with a pointed look.
Jongdae sighs as he makes way to the beaming boy and plops on the seat next to him.
This was going to be one hell of a year.

Sunlight peeped through the crack in the window and onto Yixing’s face. He groaned as he placed his arm over his eye. He stiffened when he felt Jongdae squirmed around behind him. Yixing waits until he goes back to sleep and slips out of bed placing a pillow between Jongdae’s arms. He grabs a pair of sweatpants and a sweater and slips into the washroom. He comes out a bit later feeling refreshed and heads to the door as he slips on a pair of sneakers, stuffs his phone and keys into his pocket and heads outside for a run.
He quietly closes the door when comes back to the apartment, kicks his shoes off and throws himself on the couch. He hears shuffling from the kitchen and soon Jongdae is poking his head. "Are you okay?" he asks concernedly.
"Fine." he answers, his answer muffled buy the pillow. "Just want to stay like this for a while."
"Okay. I’m going to make breakfast then."
Yixing waves in his direction and makes some mumbled noise Jongdae takes as conformation. He walks to the direction of the kitchen, his slippers scuffing against the wood. Jongdae comes back to tell Yixing that food is done and then he sees him asleep so he tiptoes his way to the couch. He reached for Yixing’s arm to pull him off but suddenly he was pulled onto the couch staring into Yixing’s very much awake eyes.
"You weren’t asleep." he whined hitting his arm. Yixing only smiled at him in response and pulled him closer so he was flush against him. He kissed him lightly on his nose, once more on his forehead, 2 on his cheeks and a slightly longer one on the edges of his kittenish lips. He sits up and pats Jongdae on the back, "Thank you for the food." he whispers. He hums a tune merrily and walks to the table. Jongdae sits there in a daze until a loud knocking comes from the door, causing him to fall off the couch. Groaning to himself he opens the door and finds his best-friend and his boyfriend with matching Cheshire cat grins. He slams the door on them and walks off to the kitchen. The duo opens the unlocked door and follow Jongdae to the kitchen. They drag the protesting couple into their room and tell them to get dressed and "no funny business". As soon as they come out they drag them out of their apartment and drive off.
They end up at Luhan’s place, Baekhyun and Chanyeol burst into the apartment with Chanyeol yelling "HE LOST!" Yixing and Jongdae walk in calmly and greet Minseok who had opened the door for the boisterous couple (they thought the door opened by itself). Luhan emerges out of a room in the apartment when Chanyeol starts yelling "PAY UP" to a cursing Baekhyun with a lighter wallet. Luhan walks out of the room and holds his hand out, and 70 dollars are thrown into his hand. He screams gleefully and runs off to the depths of his apartment. Minseok, Jongdae, and Yixing turn around at the loud noise, Minseok raises an eyebrow at Chanyeol. Chanyeol waves the three 20 dollars bills in the air fanning his non-existent sweat. They look over to Baekhyun who had crawled over to the couch and was picking at a cushion mumbling to himself. Minseok sighs and goes back to the kitchen. Jongdae looks at Yixing and kisses him quickly on the lips before he’s bouncing off to Baekhyun. Dejected, Yixing goes and looks for Luhan hoping that he’ll have something that will distract him.
Just when he and Luhan were discussing why Gale was better than Peeta when a loud "BAEK! MONEY" cut them off. They peered into the hall, glanced at each other then got up and made their way to the others. They walked in to see Kai letting out a dramatic "noOO" out as he feel onto his knees and sobbed. Sehun was jumping around in joy, Baekhyun was sitting in Chanyeol's lap glowing with happiness. Minseok was setting up the table in front of the tv and dragged a giddy Luhan into the kitchen to help. Yixing smiled at Jongdae who was sitting on the love seat. Jongdae pulled him into his lap when came close enough. Yixing giggled despite himself, "You won't be able to hold me for long."
"It's okay." he placed his arms around his hips.
"We might as well make good use of this time then." Yixing murmured wrapping his arms around Jongdae's neck as he leaned in for a long overdue kiss. The soft kiss quickly turned heated as tongues began to brush against each other and Jongdae's hands sliding Yixing's shirt up at a teasingly slow rate. Luhan grinned, standing over them and pushed the unsuspecting couple off the chair and went back to cuddling a tired Minseok.
Yixing groaned as Jongdae fell on him, his nose scrunched up in pain and a hand on the back of his head. Jongdae sat up quickly, holding his hand out for Yixing (his cushion) to grab on as he pulled him up onto the seat. Kai plays the film and leans back on Sehun, and the movie begins. Jongdae looks over to see all of his friends in similar positions (minus the two children laying down on their stomachs their legs swinging in the air). He leans onto Yixing's chest, who wraps his arms around him and kisses the crown of his head. Bubbles of happiness explode in his chest as he turns back to the movie feeling happier than he was in China; the gaping hole finally was filled. He was finally home, in Yixing's arms.
