Well, it's that time already. Man, am I glad I finished that blanket already! Heh. The wedding for John and Karleine is on Saturday, and since Nyte's one of the groomsmen, we're tromping on down to Dayton right after he gets off work. See, he has to pick up his tux before they close at 4:30, so we don't want to be late. I've spent the day not doing things I'm supposed to be doing, except for making a list of the things I ought to do beforehand. It's quite a list.
To Do List
- pack stuff
- put into car
- pick up Nyte
- shower
- dump out cat litter and replace completely
- buy new cat litter
- fill kitty bowls to tip-top
- leave note for Jeremy to check on them Saturday
- Veet legs
- wash purple silky top
- iron top
- sew up/take in purple skirt
- figure out what to wear to rehearsal dinner
- pack up yarn, projects for weekend
- find book and notebook, pack
- another topcoat on nails
- dishes
- trash to dumpster
- finish baby sweater (mostly!)
- empty camera into computer, pack
- wrap present, sign card
-check email re: jobs
- post in LJ
- re-pack shoulder bag
- one more laundry load, time permitting
- turn off all electrical devices, lock lower windows, shut closets
- wash hose
Yeah, I can totally finish that up in....two hours. *cough*
I still haven't gotten any response from Chase, and I've pretty much run out of money, so temping it is. I've applied on Manpower's website, and if I don't hear from a rep by next week, I'm going into the office to see what's up. Manpower has been pretty decent to Nyte thus far, and there are several office jobs that pay upwards of $15/hour, and a few temp-to-hire as well. Totally worth checking out. I feel pretty stupid that I didn't check them out online before, but eh; can't change that now.
I'm almost done with the baby sweater! I just uploaded the pics from my camera, but I won't get a chance to resize them before I leave. Hopefully my struggles with the auto-focus and the flash are going more in my favor this time 'round. I don't have much room on my default TimeWarner account, so I'll be taking down other pictures in order to post them. So. Yeah. Stuff. Things. Pictures. All tagged, and what-not. That'll happen sometime next week.
And the car? Yeah. Let me just tell you all; no matter what someone says, do not let them sign the back of a vehicle title without a notary present. Just don't do it. Don't sign it yourself without a notary present. I have to (I guess?) send the title for the car back to Anj so she can get it notarized (she may have to get a new title, since this one has already been signed), and then she has to send it back to me. SO MUCH WITH THE INCONVENIENT. I wanted to get the car stuff taken care of so I could do what I needed to at Manpower and not have to worry about picking up Nyte on time. And also, his car is acting up, and it would be nice to have the other one in a pinch. I guess not for a while.
In Sim news, I am teh awesome. The Chenn/Nyte household has expanded to the point of no return; Mal and Zoe have graduated college and are back in Pleasantville, living together for the time being. Mal is in the show business career, which is working just fine for that little money sim. He's about to max out the body skill, so that he can get yet another promotion. Mal is well on his way to his lifetime goal of earning 100,000 Simoleons. Zoe, a popularity sim, has a lifetime goal of being a celebrity chef. She's already maxed out the cooking skill, but so far nobody's hiring in the culinary career track. She'll keep looking; she's otherwise quite happy, with her little phonebook of friends. Every other day she starts calling people from one side of the phone book, and then the other, so she's in constant contact with the people in the middle. I think she has...what, 9 best friends? She's going for 10.
Speaking of 10, Chenn (a family sim) is quite excited to have 9 children, four of which have moved out already. She's going for 10 kids, and is only one kid away from that little goal! Her lifetime goal is to have three children graduate from college, and she's very close to that goal. Nyte wants to become a Mad Scientist. He's close. He just maxed out his logic skill, and started in the natural science career as a Rat Keeper. (HAH!) Pretty soon he'll be building that underground lair.
Back to the kids. Wash and Jayne are still enrolled at Sim State, living in the same dorm. Wash has his sights set on Lyndsay Platz, and as a family sim, has the same lifetime goal as Chenn. Jayne, however, can't wait to be a Crime Boss. He's all about raking in the Simoleons at the top of the Crime career ladder. It's a good thing, because he has absolutely no skill with the ladies. Poor Jayne.
Book just grew up into a teenager. He started in a life of crime, but was fired on the first day for risking it all and losing it. Soon he'll start his next job, in the culinary track. He doesn't yet have a lifetime goal, but as a Knowledge sim, will probably also want to be a Mad Scientist. Simon had a brief scare when he decided not to go to school for a day or two. He was nearly taken away by the Social Worker, but thankfully went on the third day, and now he's also just turned into a teenager, and got a job as Nursing Home Attendant in the Medical field. I'm sure he'll have no problem being an Overachiever, just like Daddy wants.
Kaylee and Enorrah are practically twins, they're so close in age. They're still kids, and they love to cook in their little Easy-Bake oven. Kaylee is racking up Mechanical points, and Enorrah is little miss social. Badger, the toddler, is in his terrible twos, I think. He won't potty train, he won't learn how to talk, and he won't learn how to walk. All he wants to do is be snuggled, and play with his talking rabbit head. Little bastard.
Whew. Uhm. I need a life. Good thing I'm going out of town to be around people for four days, eh? Eh?
