5 Days to Go...

Jun 15, 2009 11:30

JP and I went to Paranaque again last weekend to finish off a few more to do's in the house.

I went home early for my Friday shift so that I could rest a little before we go to Paranaque. Well, not very successful, though, as we woke up past 10am. Left the hours about 12nn. I was so ready to take the shuttle from Makati to Sucat. Guess What?! There was no shuttle yet at that time when we got to Makati. So we had to take the bus again. Grrr! But luckily, traffic wasn't so bad. Probably becuase most people already took off Friday. And we were able to drop by Ace Hardware to have a price reference for some of our to-buy list - the rod, pole ends and energy saver. Hehe.

We got to Abenson's, as agreed, and purchased the refrigerator. We then, went to 2 hardware stores. On the first hardware, we bought a 16 inch rod (for the curtain in our room) and had it cut into 2. I was really surprised that the price of the rods were only 30% of the amount SM sells it. Probably less since the 600 bucks they sell is only half the length of what we bought. Good decision there for me for not purchasing at SM! On the 2nd hardware, we were able to buy some pole ends, also at a way cheaper price (compare: 87 vs 41). I was really surprised at that. Oh, well...expensive lessons in life I guess.

We got home a little over 3pm but we have a date with my ICT friends at 5 in MoA. We left the house at 4pm and was resolved at buying the Energy Saver at MoA when the place of our meet up was moved. Anyway, Lynn picked us from MoA to our meeting place - Blue Wave. It was a good meeting, actually, we ended up eating a Jollibee. Hehehe. Better than starbucks, in my opinion. We also got to pay Kiko the 1,000 first installment for the LCD screen we bought from him. 4 more months to payoff. Hehehe.

WE go home about 12mn that day. Kate offered to us to join them to the mall the following day (Sunday) as they are also going there to buy some items for Kate. We agreed to go with them. Agreement was after lunch.

Sunday morning. JP and I decided that night to have the flooring of the room where my mom will stay with the househelp fixed. We decided to buy floorings and potentially paint for the walls.

We got to buy both at Wilcon Depot - 50 pcs of Vinyl Tiles + Rugby + Pad for the Rugby + paint for the walls. It amounted to less than 3K. Which, in my opinion, is pretty cheap. Bebe offered to paint the room herself anyway. We then went to SM afterward, where JP and I bought the wall fan for the room. We also ended up eating at RBX (Rice in a Box) - where what I ordered didn't taste well, so I ended up exchanging with my hubby. Hehehe.

On our way back, we chanced upon someone who can paint the roof and fix the gutter. It will be additional expense this month...but I think it is an eventual need and we might as well grab it while the opportunity to have it fixed is there. Plus, we also got the service of their neighbor to fix the vinyl tiles and offered to paint the room. Pretty cheap at 350 per day. The tiles should be in place now or by end of day today at least. I am really happy with those accomplishments.

By Saturday, we will be moving to Paranaque. I started to pack some of our stuff when we got home last night. I also went to PLDT to have the transfer of DSL and PLDT phone line transferred to Paranaque.

I got to buy 5 boxes where we could put our stuff. I will be calling the Lipat Bahay numbers later when I get in the office. I was able to get in touch with 2 yesterday...but I still don't feel very comfortable with my assessment.

Hopefully, I get to fix everything by Tuesday morning.

I think I said 26 days to go last June 1. I changed my mind on the date when we will move. I decided to transfer June 20, as opposed to June 26...due to numerology. Hehehe.

Ciao!

moving day.
