screwed by Bank of America
I just got my credit card statement and my interest rate on my credit card went up 10% this past month, doubling my monthly interest payment. I called them to ask why since I have not been late on a single payment. They looked up my credit score and it is excellent. There response was that in the past year by balance hasn't gone down. I have made payments, but I have also used the card. (excuse me, but isn't that the point of a card??? to use it????) If they had looked at last months balance, it was down by a few thousand, but I had to make some large purchases this month.
They offered to remove the rate increase IF I never use the card again until the balance is paid off. EXCUSE ME???? OMG!!! And they reduced my maximum balance to within $100 of my current balance. I was no where close to maxing out.
You can bet that I will never use the card again! I will be seeking out a new credit card company and transferring my balance and closing out the account.
