I come with recs! auredale October 26 2009, 05:27:17 UTC
Kdrama recs: Capital Scandal (AMAZING WATCH WATCH WATCH SERIOUSLY I WOULD REC THIS TO ANYONE EVER), Brilliant Legacy (adorable OTP), Bad Family (funny and really touching), and You're Beautiful (only 6 episodes out but it is HILARIOUS, like I almost fell off my bed laughing funny). Coffee Prince is also really good.

Kdramas kinda irritate me with the love triangles, so I don't always finish them. I would not recommend watching Boys Over Flowers if you really liked J-Hanadan and if you don't want to claw your eyes out.

Oh and if you want a twdrama, you should check out MARS. Even if you never watch another twdrama, you should still watch MARS. Even with terrible quality, it's one of the most amazing dramas ever. And there is real kissing and even a few sex scenes! GASP!

Ahhh how do you like Nobuta so far?

Thank you for the recs! I'll definitely be checking them out. :)

And too late about the Boys Over Flowers. I finally managed to get through the rest of the eps while I was at my grandma's house last week. I really don't know how I got through the entire series... but I'm happy I did 'cause now I don't have to watch it ever again. I loved HanDan so much, I expected all the other adaptations to be just as good and BOF wasn't at all. >.>

I'm only on ep 3 of Nobuta, but I am realllly enjoying it so far!! :D

oioiii! these are pretty much cool dramas! almost all I've watched XDD

I will reply to your message later (I'm at work at the moment XDD)
uhm... I'm not that much into Korean drama either... or let me tell it this way... I am... but not that long, so I don't know this much of those. but I think 'coffee shop' is a must.

uhm... about japanese dramas? mh... I liked 'yasha' pretty much... this was my first drama XDD so it's very important to me... + it had some shounen-ai parts... which... nya... I loooved XD
and yeah... 'koizora' movie and drama. drama with koji setou and movie with haruma-samaaa!
I think haruma suited the role better... but nya... setou did a great job, too. when you like dramatic lovestories. it's a must!
and also 1 litre no namida! which is based on some true happenings... only the fact that ryo's character was a very awesome invention XDDD

you can see my dramas I watched on my profile. that's quite a lot XDDD

nawwwww! don't worry. i guess we're all are busy these days, ne? ^^

"Tree of Heaven"? sounds funny. can you tell me about the plot in short?

uhn... 'yasha' is a pretty old drama... I think from 2001? I'm not sure... and the main lead is 'ito hideaki', who is one of my fave actors. he also stars in 'buzzer beat' and is naoki's trainer.
the story is interested (for me). it's about a super intelligent human... who discovers that there is a virus which is going to kill japanese population... so he moved from us to japan to help out and work on an anti-virus...
this time... he has his blind high-school friend there... and they have a very intensive and beautiful 'relationship'...
there are a lot of shounen-ai elements. and I think the story is just beautiful (when you're interested in medicine/crime, even more XD)

I like it, 'cause it mixes Japanese and Korean. XD It's about a girl named Hana (played by Park Shin Hye), who's father died when she was younger. Her mom remarries and her step-brother doesn't speak since his mom died on his birthday when he was 10 years old. Anyways, they get close and start having feelings for each other. Then the drama forwards to two years later when Hana is working as a maid for a hotel in Tokyo and her step-brother (his name is Yoon Suh) is in the mafia or something (I'm not sure what he is lol) and they meet again and then it's just drama/love triangle. It's pretty good but it starts off amazing in the beginning, and kind of gets "ehh" as it goes on ( ... )

As far as kdramas go, coffee prince is a must. It's one of my absolute favorite dramas from any country. The chemistry between the two leads is great ( ... )

Thank you so much for the recs!! I have downloaded Coffee Prince already, but haven't watched it. I should probably move it up on my list since everyone says it's really good. :)

Legend seems interesting. I've never really watched a fantasy/period drama, but it be something I'm interested in. What's the plot and stuff??

With these recs, I will officially be watching dramas for the rest of my life, lol. Thanks again <3333

Legend is... well, epic. I think the whole thing spans a couple thousand years *scratches head*. If I get any of the details wrong, don't kill me.

So basically God sends his son (I think) down to earth to help the people of Korea unite and whatnot. But things do not go well. Therefore, tons of years later (this is all prophesized, btw), he is born again as Prince Dam Duk. The prophecy states that he will basically unite all the lands of Korea into Gorgeo. There are all these themes of man vs heaven, choice vs. fate, etc. Awesome fight scenes, kickass girls, and the whole drama is just really pretty. So yes. Action, drama, angst, and a smattering of romance. It took me a couple tries to get into it (that darn first episode!), but a couple episodes in and I was hooked.

It's also pretty short compared to most historical kdramas.

Here's a better summary of Legend complete with screencaps and humor!

I haven't watched Ikemen desu ne, and Hana Kimi 2011 since I never really liked remakes of dramas, but did you like them?

chemicalscene October 31 2011, 19:02:11 UTC
Ikemen desu ne was AMAZING! I'd say it was even better than You're Beautiful. You should give it a try! :)

Hana Kimi 2011 was awful. One of the worst remakes I've ever seen. Not even Nishii Yukito or Miura Shohei could redeem it. I would only suggest you watch it if you're into torturing yourself, tbh. D:

(sorry for late reply)
I will watch it then :)

and I'm glad I didn't watch Hana Kimi 2011. I don't understand why they had to remake it anyway, Hana Kimi 2007 wasn't so long ago, if it was a drama from the 90s, that would have been a better reason to remake it.

Yeah I don't understand why they had to remake it either! Someone is running out of ideas for dramas lol.
