We watch the ABC news most nights. I am usually okay with it, but today's stories of endless lines of hungry people had me weeping through the newscast.

Oregon schools to remain closed through June at least. Distance learning (for which no one had a plan) is now the plan.

A couple of weeks ago on Facebook someone posted "We are about three weeks from knowing EVERYBODY'S real hair color!"

Well, apparently not.

...or in my case: cook food, ride bikes. Calm and low-key and haimisch, the sort of spring break we usually have -- though spring break doesn't really start until tomorrow. Just remembering the panic buying that was happening in Phoenix when we were on Orange Alert back in 2003: while most of the valley was grabbing up toilet paper and water-purification tablets and canned goods. Scottsdale was panic buying fine wines.

People are spending hours waiting to get into or out of Costco, with reportedly no dog food or paper towels or toilet paper or hand sanitizer or bottled water to buy inside, with supplies of frozen chicken starting to dwindle. Now there are lines at gas stations ( Read more... )

Considering that this time it's Boeing, and over the 737, I wonder how many millions of dollars they will pay this guy to go away?

What level does one have to hit before you get bought out, not just fired?
