it's my weekend!
My contrary side expresses itself partly in my work week: most people's Monday is my Friday.
Today I got to the restaurant at 10 and met with the boss. He's concerned about specials, so I have to do more homework. I think maybe I'll make a deal with him: dinner specials are special, fancy and pretty and exotic, but lunch specials are things *I* want to serve, like the red beans and rice with andouille I made today. (I got one complaint that it was too spicy. *eye-roll*) I have to pay more attention to trends in flavor and give him the showy (not subtle) stuff he wants. I guess I can subscribe to Food Arts again, for one. Anyway, generally he and I are both satisfied with my progress.
I have my days off pretty well covered, so I should get to relax, apart from buying a wall clock (the kitchen clock gave up the ghost today), some Asian ingredients (I want to make kecap manis for a salmon glaze and some other sauces), and a new uniform coat.
Spoke with the prospective landlord, who said he was waiting on a couple of calls before letting me know his decision.
