Yes, my dears, it DOES rain in Portland. Even if the locals assure me that this year has been dry, dry, dry -- it's raining and dark when I get up at 7:30 or 8, and raining and grey on the way to work, and raining and dark by about 16:00.
When I first heard the term "sun break," I thought they were joking. What did I know, I basically haven't lived north of the 32nd parallel for 15 years and more. Here north of 45 degrees, winter is a whole different deal.
A few minutes ago the grey lifted and actual sunshine streamed through the window. I looked up and said, "sun break!" Then, taking a leaf from
hippybear's book, I TOOK a sun break and stood in the front yard for a few minutes with the sun on my face.
Aaaahhh. Now I can make some Vitamin D.
