the garden view

Nov 26, 2018 05:24

We have way more lights than we can put up in the house or out front, so Kevin stuck some stakes in the edge of the gravel pad in the back yard and strung little green lights around it in an arc. The forsythia is wearing red, one of the bamboos in blue, and one of the trellises in blue and green, with the cherry tree wearing very bright incandescent white lights. Since it's in the back of the house, we can sit in the study and look at it through the sliding door. It even reflects in the water feature he built this year.

Last night he wondered about leaving the back lights on (the front ones stay lit all night). I told him it would be festive to see them at 04:30 when I get up -- but despite the blackout curtains in the bedroom, they were too bright! It was, indeed, fun to open the curtains and see the garden all lit for Yule, however. Smiling at it as I type. Will try to get photos.
