His name, as it turns out, is Rumi. His nickname is Scooter.

Huh? Must be a story behind those names. Scooter is not a nickname for Rumi.

If he scoots his butt, take him to the vet.

Our last sweet kitty came with a poet's name. Rumi because he is an absolute lover, and Rumi was an exquisite love poet. Scooter because Kevin startled him in the catbox and he jumped out and scooted like a dog -- but he's already been twice to the vet and is fine.
