a fond farewell

Feb 11, 2012 07:14

Yesterday I turned in my keys and access card and parking pass. At two o'clock in the afternoon they brought out and cut a half sheet cake, nice chocolate with chocolate buttercream and caramel between the layers. "Good Luck Frank." Just about everybody in the department stopped up to The Roost to shake my hand and/or hug me and say goodbye. I plated cake and handed it around, but didn't have any. Two cards had been passed around and signed by just about everybody. The director gave me a thank-you card and a letter of recommendation. I wrote "aloha, y'all" on the white board and headed home about 4:30.

partings, ewu
