Journeying! part 2

Our next stop was Arches National Park. We were refreshed from relaxing in the pool and hot tub the previous night at the hotel. Anyway, turns out this place is bigger than I had anticipated. While we had ideas about hiking around between spots at Bryce Canyon, this was just not possible at Arches, where the points of interests are miles apart. We ended up driving through most of the park. We were low on gas, so we were counting the miles around the park, and ended up going into Moab afterwards to fill up. We got much closer to empty than we would have liked, but it all worked out. The spots in Arches were lovely. We met some very friendly traveling sisters who took our picture out by the Park Avenue viewpoint, and the friendliness continued the whole way. We wandered around Balanced Rock, as well as the Windows and Turret Arch, taking pictures and enjoying views from different angles. After this, it started getting colder, but we wanted to see as much as possible. We drove around the rest of the park, stopping at the major points, and doing a little hike near the Northernmost area, out as far as the Pine Arch. All in all, Arches was a lovely park to visit. Hiking around in the snow was fun, and certainly more doable than it was at Bryce Canyon.

We got back on the road, filled up in Moab, and then continued on our way. Our aim was to get a fair ways into Colorado. We ended up stopping at Glennwood Springs, and having a fairly quiet night.

The next day we would try to spend a while in Denver, and then push on into Kansas...

By the way, before I forget again, the entire trip was ~2630 miles.
