engagement
this deserves an entry.
On october 29th many of my friends and I, plus my girlfriend and her sister and such, went to Murphys in old town. We were there to see a band called Ceann (irish inspired bar songs that everyone learns fast and loves) and Ceann is one of Maggie's favorite bands.
I had set it up with the band a month ago when they were last in town so here is how it went down, which you can assume is what I set up since it went perfectly.
After they had their first break they called me up to play a song with them in the second set. I had been practicing this song and it was a good easy one, although I had to play it straight harp (olny jim cares about that) so anyway I went up to the stage and we played the song. I played very well and the whole bar got a huge kick out of it since they arent used to it and I bent notes, something the hapr player int he band doesnt do much. so then after the song they said "why dont you keep that mic I know you have something to say" so I kept the mic and said "Maggie could you come to the stage?" so she came up.
I said, "i have something to ask you, Will you marry me?" and I got down on one knee and pulled out the box and the ring and everything. She nodded and was all flushed and crying sorta and the whole place erupted and cheered for us. the band bought us a couple beers and it all went very well.
She loves the ring, I picked all the parts out correctly and we are pretty happy about the whole deal. when I know a date I will let yall know.
