I've now had a number of days to relax and chat and cook and just be home. I'm loving it and wish that I had the ability to enjoy this more often than I do. I feel like I'm finally on the tail end of being sick and am reinvigorated about going back to work.
With Jack's visit we've managed to catch up and revisit the good old days. We've known each other for 17 years and that just blows me away. It's funny how my life has changed. Things that used to be important aren't center stage any more. Some interests have ebbed and flowed while others altered all together. It's easy to see how the past gets idylized because it's easy to remember the good times and the bad times just seem to fade into the distance.
I've also realized that I have few close friends and while that's not necessarily a bad thing (I have trouble keeping in touch the way that it is), I definitely need to do some work to expand my social circles and to develop new friends.
Today, I met the first person that I'd connected with solely through LJ. Had breakfast with
2fruition and it was great to just hang out and chat. It was a great way to start the day.
Hope that folks have had as restful and rewarding a time as I have.
