[Translation filler #7] Otsuka Ai - Frienger
It's been 8 months since Otsuka Ai's Frienger was released, but it still remains my favorite song and music video of 2006. There's nothing artistic or groundbreaking about it -- it's just a really, really happy, feel good video which is my favorite kinda music. ^_^
So off I went to translate the song, and now I love it even more. Sure, the lyrics are simple, but I really liked the "friend as a superhero" motif, and so I tried to preserve that sentai/power ranger feel in my translation. Hope it worked! :)

(In case your Japanese/Chinese isn't that great, the story is that Ai gets her passport and goes off to Taiwan where a guy teaches her how to use a motorbike.)
BTW, thanks to my wonderful Japanese TA/Prof for helping me understand several strange lines in this song and the previous SMAP song! She also helped fix my "Summer Time Love" translation to the point that it almost makes sense now. XD Thank you!
