http://community.livejournal.com/moviebuffs/2378302.html Updated Enchilada:
http://community.livejournal.com/kevintopia/1500.html I'm really surprised that most of the community hates Juno. Personally, I thought Juno was likeable and the story uplifting. But eh well, I think that's what's cool about
moviebuffs: there's so many differing opinions and movie tastes on there. And by sharing our different perspectives, movies can become better, like with Brokeback, No Country and Half Nelson. It's the kind of discussion and variety I reeeeeally wanted from the jdrama community, where sometimes it felt like everyone was on the same wavelength: watching the same shows, having the same opinions, talking about the same actors. So I switched to movies. ^_^ I just find the diversity in moviebuffs so much more engaging and fun, and pretty boy picspams are non-existant. ;) Anyway, I encourage you to check out moviebuffs if you love movies, too.
Oh, and I also encourage you to check out La Vie En Rose. (The movie, not the lingerie, out of all the titles . . ). It's the best foreign film I've seen since Ima Ai, and much easier to find at Blockbuster. ;)
STUPIDSTUPIDSTUPID!: When I heard that Hollywood was remaking the Korean film and my favorite romantic comedy, "My Sassy Girl," I cringed. But then I figured, "Hey, I bet if the movie does well enough in the box office, the original might get a proper R1 DVD release and more people will see it!" Everything was fine until . . I just learned that the remake will now be Direct to DVD. o_O Was it so bad that even romantic-comedy lovin' Hollywood execs hated it?
STUPIDERSTUPIDERSTUPIDER!: I'm not a fan of parents who name their kids after themselves . . it just seems uncreative and a bit narcissistic. (Apologies if you are named after mom or dad ^_^;). Then I learned about the MMA fighter Kimbo Slice, and he definitely takes the cake. His real name is Kevin Ferguson, and when he has his first son, he calls him Kevin. Ok, that's fine albeit boring, whatever.
Then he has another son and names him . . Kevin. Errr . . back-up copy in case the first one fails?
THEN he has a daughter, and thankfully that breaks the cycle, right?? WRONG, he names her KEVINA. What kinda name is that??? That's what bullies used to call me in elementary!!
Oh, and he did have one more son and decided to change it up a bit with: Kevlar. :P I'm not making this up!:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bx3mQJgq6TQ (@ 4:48, and @ 6:02 = "I wanted to name all my boys Kevin" O_O).
As much as I love my name, if I ever have kids, I'm definitely going with something very different. Hmm, maybe I'll name them after cheese . . Colby if it's a boy, Brie if it's a girl? :) Do you have names picked out for your future kids? (I'm half-expecting a lot of East-Asian names XD )
