Yale this weekend:
I am really glad that I went. Even though I didn't get any work done, and I have an entire essay to write today, I think it was a great decision to go. I got to know a couple of really great girls and had a good time with them. The talks were less than inspiring and the program put together by Yale was makeshift, and I was not intellectually challenged in anyway. I had a not so great host who did not let me in one night and I was forced to stay at another location without any of my shit. Despite that, I think that one of the best things that came of the trip was seeing the campus and experiencing even a small part of Yale life. The architecture is amazing on this campus. It's honestly the stereotypical image that you have of the ivies. However, Yale and the city of New Haven are intertwined. City traffic and shopping centers are right next to the residential colleges. This I did not like. Sure there were trees and grass, but only in the courtyards and occasionally on the sides of the sidewalks. It made me really appreciate Cornell. I like how segregated we are, I like the huge grassy quads, and I like the extensive amount of trees. After a weekend at Yale, I can honestly say that it was the first time that I really really wanted to come back to Cornell. It was a perfect time for this, because usually at this time of the semester, I can't wait to get off campus and get back home. Oh Cornell, I <3 U. ---but I am still stoked on coming home! :P
One week from today, I will be getting out of my exam and packing up the last things for home :D
