We bonded.
I recieved a call last night from Dr. O'Leary (Our Vet) to see how the family was doing. You could tell that she was still as broken up about Beau as we are and seemed to need to talk about it. Apparently, after we left the vet's office all the staff that supports Dr. O'Leary went in the back and had a good cry. She felt bad for the rest of the patients she had to see that night because she just wasn't into it. We shared silly stories about Beau's adventures in the past few months and laughed a little. She asked after Jack to see how he was adjusting, and other than us all being a little needy, we don't seem to be doing anything too odd. I told her we would see her soon because Jack needs shots, a check-up and a diet. He has become quite the chunk-a-kitty.
