3 Funerals and a Going Away Party

This week has been a crapper! We have had 3 deaths that have shook the office a bit. 1 was a co-worker that had been battling brain cancer for nearly a year. He 'retired' a couple of months ago and apparently entered a nursing home shortly there after. Very sad, but he has got to be in a better place. At least there is no more pain. Another was the death of a parent for a co-worker in accounting. Very sad, he apparently had been ill for some time. The third is a good friend and co-worker. Friday night she and her husband worked out, she got done before him and ran out to get dinner while he finished up. When she returned, he was dead in the basement. Shocking. He was relatively healthy, maybe 60, has two grown children with families of their own and supported Mary's girls from a previous marriage (both of which are in college). Shocking....truly shocking. I really didn't know her husband directly (except for the occasional work function) but thru the stories he was just as much a friend as Mary. She will need lots of support in the coming months and weeks as the girls head back to school and she will be left alone. I see lots of girls days out soon. That will be good for all of us. Saturday evening is a going away party for Katelynn and Jim as they prepare to depart for Virginia Tech, which will be fun as it is a party, but I would prefer the reason to be a birthday or something. Beau is back at the vet because he has a sneeze and a couple of other issues.

Somebody needs to get married or have a baby or something so we can have some good news around this place.
