you know you are obsessed with Harry Potter...

...when you expect the characters in every book you read to pull out a wand to open a door or repair a plate.

When your toilet is sitting in your bathtub I'd say you are at the point of no return regarding the kids' bathroom remodel.

It's also pretty sad when the most exciting thing to talk about is the fact that there is a toilet sitting in my bathtub.

I'm going to periodically post CD reviews on my LJ. Why would I think anyone cares about my opinions of CDs? I don't think anyone cares, actually. But, I need to do a better job of articulating what I'm trying to say. So, I'm going to try to articulate with CD reviews. Based on a four star rating system cuz I'm totally unoriginal.

Up All Night by Razorlight (***) - This band has the distinction of being one I love but if put on the spot, I couldn't tell you one song they sing. I'll look at the CD and think, 'What do they sing?' before I stick it in the player, then when it is playing, I sing every song. And, like every song. Weird, I know. Their big fault is not knowing when to shut up. They ruin two songs by not knowing when to end them. Is the song good or bad when you listen to 75% of it, and like it, then have to switch it because it devolves into pointless, mindless screeching and wailing? Meh, I don't know either.
Liner Notes - not too bad, although they seem to be copying The Libertines by handwriting everything. They included pics of the band members, but don't bother telling you who they are or what they play. We are obviously supposed to know. One guy is pretty, there is no other word for it. Favorite Songs - Leave Me Alone, To the Sea (which is one that doesn't know when to shut up), Don't Go Back to Dalston, Stumble and Fall

Keane self titled (no stars) - everyone on my flist loves Keane. I've never made it past Song #3. All I have to say is "learn a new chord, boys."

The Music self titled (no stars) - I think I liked them better when I thought the lead singer was a girl.

Hits by Pulp (***) - Jarvis Cocker has the voice I hear in my wet dreams. And, boy does the guy love to sing about sex and incest. There is so much I don't know what the hell he's talking about, which is probably good. I don't tend to listen to this when the rugrats are in the car. Liner Notes - included all lyrics (yea!) and a story about how Pulp changed some guy's live, or saved his life or a lighthouse or something. I'm sure I should understand, but I don't. Kudos for having pictures of the band members, but again, no names. I was disappointed when I learned that the guy with the big, ugly black glasses was narrarating my wet dreams. Kinda lost a little bit there.
Favorite Songs - Babies, Common People, This is Hardcore, Disco 2000, Sorted for E's and Wizz, Razzmatazz
