With all the news swirling around about job cuts, foreclosures, plunging stock markets and government bailouts, it's good to know that the world's most reputable news outlets are focusing on what really matters to the average American in this new uncertain economic climate: recession sex. The New York Times reports on contraception's place in the stimulus package. (Heh heh. Stimulus. Package. Heh heh.) The Economist blogs about the effect of the downturn on high-end call girls. Forbes expounds on the "sexual aids industry": like Spam sales, still going strong. Ex-bankers get laid less; everyone else gets laid more, often on craigslist. I guess when people can't bear to think about their 401k's anymore they have sex, and when reporters can't bear to think about their 401k's they write about it.
