The Fool's Journey [ Arcanas 0 - 4 ]

Apr 01, 2009 02:13

Greetings loves, this might be a little different to what I usually post, because this is actually original writing. I promised awhile back I was going to start writing my own rendition of the fool's journey, so here I am. Sadly, I've only written the Fool, Magician, High Priestess, Empress and Emperor. I will continue to post them as I finish each arcana. If this gets a positive response, I might contribute court card pieces as well as Minor Arcana pieces. The Fool was more rhymey than expected, I was seriously not intending to rhyme. Sometimes, my lameness takes over so please be gentle.

I do hope someone will enjoy this. I don't think I'll post this anywhere since it's not fandom related The fag hag is a lie Dx, but I just felt like finally posting it. So anyways, each arcana will be placed under different lj-cuts for your convenience. Thanks in advance to those who read to the very end, and thanks to those that even considered it. ♥

I am nor first or last of the Arcana,
But I am certainly before all, for I am the Fool,
The one who starts it all.
With me by your side, you'll never fret,
Your heart's desire will always be met.

Taking a leap of faith might not be as easy as it looks,
Just take it as a fairytale in a marvelous storybook.

Although, a fair warning is in order too,
For a fool can only let his curiosity consume so much,
If overdone he indeed might lose touch.

The price to pay for freedom might also not be to your liking,
But its worth it all to uncover the truth,
The heart of everything.

Lead the journey,
Find the answer,
To know what you truly want,
To understand,
To fall at the hands of fate.

The clock continues to tick,
Will you agree to take the risk?

Now you've stumbled upon the realm of the Magician,
For he's the one you seek,
His miracles are not to be taken lightly,
He'll only agree to aid you in your journey,
If you truly need his help.

He holds the power of the divine,
And shall show you the way,
His words spark something inside you,
Something you never knew you had within.

The illusions are so enticing,
They urge you to go forward,
Before you decide to go,
He has a couple more words of advice;

"Don't take advantage of what I've given you today,
For you'll regret it in the long run.
Only make use of the necessary,
The rest should be discarded.
The magic is deeper than these illusions,
They won't make you happy,
Don't lose sight of what will truly bring you happiness.

Fulfillment.

Remember my words when you do though,
Remember me."

Along the way you meet someone else,
A wise woman, that seems to know more than she leads on,
Although she does not talk much,
But continues to stare in your direction.

She finally whispers words that blended in with the gusts of wind,
You hardly heard, but still distinguished,
Intuition...

She spoke a little louder this time,
"Listen,
What does it say?"

You inquire her to explain herself,
Although she ignores your request.

But once more she seems to open up,
Even if her words carry a much rougher tone,
She became a little irritated at your lack of understanding.

"If you don't listen to yourself openly,
Your inner wisdom,
You won't be able to proceed,
The phases of the moon shall let me know of your advancement,
For now farewell."

You call out to her,
She does not look back, but stops in her tracks,
You say,

"Intuition is the key to a better understanding of the self,
And all those around you."

A slight bow follows,
"I was mistaken,
You are ready,
Continue to learn at the same pace,
Stay pure and dedicated to your resolve,
Follow your inner voice,
Till me meet again."

You've become tired, and need rest,
The journey has just begun, there's much more ahead,
To do things in haste would only prove to be a waste,
As you progress, there's much to expect.

Yet another is seen on the horizon,
You find yourself in quite awe, for she is beautiful,
The new life she carries within, makes her radiate even brighter.

She calls to you, and wonder if you should answer,
Upon so she makes her way towards you.

You feel as if her belly is about to burst,
It looks as if she swallowed an over sized orange.

A rose bud was extended in your direction,
"Be careful,
You're just as fragile as this bud,
Don't overexert yourself,
You, need rest,
Come,
I'll make you something for your journey."

You're a bit hesitant, but feel a strong sense of gratitude towards the woman,
She reminds you of your own mother,
Before you left home.

You make your way inside the small cottage,
Sit at the table,
And smell the intoxicating aroma of food.

"I hope you enjoy it,
It was made with a lot of love,
I've become a better cook now that I'm expecting."
You both eat in silence,
Until,
Said silence is broken.

"Satisfied?"
You nod.
"Good,
I'll put some for you to take on your way,
Although, before you go,
A word of the wise I must share,
Never lose your sense of self,
It will be the most important feat in your travels,
As long as you understand and know your limits,
Don't be afraid to show you care for others,
Only when you share that love,
Will you be loved in return,
Remember my words,
Please,
It's for you own good all right?"

She kisses you on the cheek and wishes you a safe journey,
You wish her the best,
As well as for the upcoming bundle of joy.

The nurturing love you received from the expectant mother,
Was exactly what you needed,
Now you are able to continue on with more willpower,
And inner strength than before.

Although, just when you thought you would not meet anyone else along the way,
There is a man with an arrogant flair about him,
Clad in what looked like silk.

He startled you when you found the cold stare was directed towards you,
"M'boy, do you know where you're going?"
You answer with a simple nod,
He nods too.

"Good,
I enjoy your attitude,
Now,
Do you know of the responsibilities that comes along with your chosen actions?"

You were not sure how to answer the man,
So you stayed silent,
The man didn't appreciate such.

"You have potential,
But you still have a long way to go."

You were sure he was right,
His words were not meant to deceive,
Just as she reminded you of your mother,
He reminds you of your father.

You listen to the caring words of advice disguised as a scolding,
"Don't let my appearance deceive you, boy,
I'm not an old man yet,
I've lived through a lot of hardships and the like,
So I know what I'm talking about.
You see,
It's easy to say 'I'll do it',
But it's a much more difficult task to go about and do so,
You will not be able to continue without a sense of determination and direction,
You must learn to take the lead,
With that,
I'm sure you'll be able to follow the path to becoming a great man,
But most importantly,
An even greater human being."

I'm so lame, I do hope someone enjoys it though. Guh, I feel weird posting original work and stuff. It's all over the place because I wrote it whenever I was alone with my notebook, and after certain readings I did for people. The cards inspire me every day, so I thought I'd give them a little more love, and express my admiration for them in writing. When I do readings, they speak to me, and this is exactly how I envision them. Each character protrayed in each of the cards, have something to say. I just wanted to write how they would go about doing that. Either way, hope this wasn't too annoying to put up with. Until next time, loves.

[EDIT] HA! I post on April Fools?! OH THE IRONY! I think my inner Fool was trying to tell me something. XD [/EDIT]
