Summary: Reports have come in about errant jigokuchou. It so happens it's (probably) not Kyouraku's fault this time, as the incidents are in the living world... but even stranger is what Byakuya finds while on surveillance.
After another day of testing the hell butterflies, his officers had nothing new to report. Neither, for that matter, did he. He was half-way to believing it to be Kyouraku-taichou's doing again, but no more than half. After all, he doubted that the man would go so far as to delay his jigokuchou in the Living World. And the six independent reports of odd hell butterfly behaviour could not be all his doing.
Therefore he silently, carefully, patiently, stalked the tiny fluttering form before him. (After all, there were still no Pluses about, and the Hollows were reflecting the deficit. It was prudent to keep his presence to a minimum.)
After some time the jigokuchou did start to deviate from the path it should have been following. Unpleasantly surprised to find it happening yet determined to find the cause, he cautiously followed. Shortly his senses hit upon something incredibly odd - a Plus soul. But in a moment as he came closer he revised his opinion. No, it felt like a Plus, but something seemed off. (Besides the fact that Pluses had been missing for weeks.)
Even more cautious he slipped around buildings and closed in a bit closer to the hell butterfly, who seemed to be heading towards the pseudo-Plus. Finally getting a line of sight on the spirit, he blinked in surprise.
A Shinigami student? he thought with a frown. Why is the jigokuchou headed for a student and not the intended recipient?
Keeping hidden behind a tall wall and stilling his reaitsu, he watched carefully, hoping to find out.
