Summary: With a little covert assistance, Kon has broken out of the Twelfth's laboratories. But to get back home, he needs to find a shinigami he knows he can trust. Hitsugaya will do just nicely.
Kon poked his head outside the door of the empty building he'd been crouched in for the past ten minutes. This whole being quiet and sneaky thing was really, really tough for him, but he seemed to be managing pretty well so far. He had to.
How Nemu-chan had found him in the Twelfth Division's laboratories, Kon did not know. And as far as he was concerned, it didn't matter; the fact that she had was the only important thing. There was no way that he could have escaped without her help.
"I have temporarily weakened the security around this area. Take the time to escape while you can. And I would advise you to do so inconspicuously."
That was all she'd said to him, her voice being the only indication that it had indeed been her, for he had been unable to see her face. And so he had waited a few moments after he'd heard her footsteps fade in order to make his move. Not any longer than that. Who was to say when the security would go back up?
Seeing no one, Kon popped out of the building and scurried along the walls in an effort to be stealthy. Where was Neesan? Surely she would comfort him and then send him home to safety. She was in the Thirteenth Division, so she should have been close by when he'd first broken out, but he couldn't seem to find her.
This was a disaster! What if some unfriendly shinigami caught him before he could find a familiar face to send him home? And drag him back down to the Twelfth for more unspeakable experimentation?
Oh, wait! There was a familiar face. A very young one, with lots of white on his clothing and the very colour of his hair.
On seeing a way back, all thoughts of being stealthy fled Kon's mind and he dove toward the captain, fingers latching desperately onto his ankle. "Toushirou!"
