Summary: The hospital is a popular feeding ground for Hollows; but they don't usually stick around long enough to get close.
Ryuuken was busy sorting through papers when he felt it -- a strong Hollow was approaching the hospital. He kept working, scratching his pen across the paper, ignoring it. No matter. It wouldn't be there for long -- it'd go away shortly, when a Shinigami came to intercept it. It wasn't as if there wasn't a surfeit of them in the area.
Time passed, but as the seconds ticked by nothing happened. An icy roar exploded in his ears, his hand jogging so that he drew a black line right across the letter he was signing. It was close; they'd never got so close before.
Just what was going on?
Throwing off his jacket, he moved toward the door, stepping out into the corridor and waving his hand at his secretary. "I'm out of the office," he told her, as he passed, stepping into the lift to take him down to the third floor where Isshin's office was.
He stepped in boldly, without knocking.
"Where are they?"
