021 [voice/video; forward-dated to around 8am]
[...at first, it seems as if Phoenix's Pokegear is transmitting by mistake, because at first, all that can be heard is silence. No static, no talking -- maybe a lght gust of wind, but that might have just been your imagination.
But, wait! Was that breathing? I think it was! and a sigh, even, before the lawyer actually begins speaking;]
...is that it, then?
[His voice...sounds odd, really. There's a hint of some strong emotion tinting it a sad quality underneath the surface, but anyone who isn't aware of a certain woman popping up in Mahogany Town will only think he's tired from the emotional rollercoaster that was this weekend.]
My Pokemon are all back to normal. The trees, the grass...it's all normal again. [A pause.] ...was it all just a Halloween prank? It was in pretty bad taste, if you ask me.
I'm...actually, I'm a little ways out on Route 32. Maybe about a half-day's worth of travel? I wasn't really paying attention...
I'm not going to skip town, guys, alright? I just wanted... [A hesitant pause, and then what sounds light the verbal equivalent of a shrug.] Just. Some alone time, I guess. I don't know...
--er, right! I did catch a new Pokemon, though-- [AND THEN SUDDENLY THERE'S A VIDEO FEED. It...really does look like he's a ways down the route, but that's not the important thing at the moment -- he places his Pokegear on the ground, notably keeping his face out of the camera's view, and kneels down, patting his knees in a manner not unlike how you would beckon a dog towards you.]
C'mon, girl. It's just a camera, don't be shy. [And after a few short seconds, a very, very small and very, very fat Mareep waddles into view. It slowly makes it's way over to Phoenix before plopping down on top of his feet, giving the camera something not unlike a :3 face.]
Maaa!
[He reaches down to ruffle her wool affectionately, a small smile quirking the corners of his mouth in the small portion of his face that can be seen from the camera.] I figured it might be a good idea to catch her before the gym battle.
[He pauses again, apparently muling over something, then--]
....I was thinking of naming her Mia.
