Earlier today, Orange Kid had been struck by a cupidbot.   And who should the very next person he see be, but Pit?  Immediately, he was overcome by love.  For the first time ever, Orange Kid actually cared about someone else more than himself, a completely unprecedented event

He stopped watching the swirl of water. 'My love'? Pit twisted around to figure out what was going on here. That voice was fairly recognizable and the sight of Orange Kid cemented his first hunch.

"Ah... Orange Kid?" His eyes became blue pools of confusion.

"Yes, it is me! I have come to declare my true feelings for you. All day, I haven't been able to stop thinking about you for even a second!"

Orange Kid produced an object from his pocket. "Here. A gift for you!" Orange Kid pushed a button on the device.

It played the song 'Ode to Pit.' Miraculously enough, it didn't break!

"I made it extra special, just for you!" Orange Kid said, offering the device to Pit.

Speechless. Rendered speechless. Could this, by any chance, be some kind of prank? A... Valentines prank!? His heart wasn't sure where to sway- towards resentment or being touched. Regardless of how he felt about the whole encounter, he took the device and just blinked at it.

"Um...." He looked up. A rosy color dabbed his cheeks a little. Sure he was completely and utterly infatuated with Blaze, but as powerful as the chip had command over his romance, he remembered the holiday season and their incident with gender confusion and kissing. Why was Orange Kid... so suddenly... all of a sudden... so in love with him, as he claimed? "...Thank you? It was a... nice song." A smile crept across his face.

Well, it was very thoughtful to go out of his way and actually make something like this for him. But that didn't lead him out of the fog just yet. Boy, was Pit ever confused.

"I can tell, you're completely speechless in awe at my gift. Please, don't be! It would be a curse upon me to be unable to hear your melodious voice!"

"Now then, I've gone to all this trouble to show you how much I truly love you, Pit. Will you do me the honor of returning my feelings?"

Pit couldn't help but feel... a little creeped out by this proposal. One foot stepped back and the heel of his sandal scraped against the fountain. Uh-oh. Stuck between a rock and a hard place- Orange Kid's erection and the fountain, that is- if he said yes, not only would he be lying, but who knows what would happen next- they'd have to be boyfriends, of course! No way! And if he said no, then he would shove Orange Kid's feelings in the dirt. How awkward... Pit had never dealt with a scenario quite like this before.

"Uh..." How to handle this situation... "Listen, I... I'm sorry. As nice as your gift is, I just can't... be with you like this. Sorry, Orange Kid..."

"W...what?" Orange Kid's cheerful expression immediately fell away into a shocked, sad one. "Are you... rejecting me? Was... was my gift not good enough? If it wasn't I can make something else! Something even better, just say the word! If you don't like my inventions, I could buy you something! Anything your heart desires!! Is there something wrong with me? I assure you, I can change! I would give up inventing forever if you only asked me to! Please, just tell me what you want from me!"

Pit slowly shook his head, deeply sorry about wounding his heart already. "There is no gift. And I don't need you to change for me," he said with a small, reassuring smile. He was still taken by surprise at the realization of someone's overpowering feelings pointed at him. Nobody had ever been so desperate that they would vow to change their entire character just to be accepted by his love. Pit didn't expect it to happen period, so now...

But... as curious as he was towards these profuse feelings Orange Kid harbored for him, there were many unavoidable factors that defeated the possibility of returning such feelings and involving himself with such pacts of intimacy. It didn't feel... okay. "I'm... really sorry. We can always be friends, though!"　　And with that, he opened his arms and enveloped Orange Kid into a hug, hoping to console him.
