ho-hum

ho-hum, such a boring day. it's not that i don't have work to do but there's nothing pressing. for some reason i didn't sleep that well last night so i have a major case of the yawns. an hour and a half and ill be on my way to el gym for a nice, long, workout...yay!

had dinner last night with melody and the girls--melissa (mel's sister) and katie and erin who went to college with melody. we went to republic and i branched out and tried something other than the pad thai. i got the spinach noodles which were pretty good. our waiter was HOT, HOT, HOT but none of us had the guts to flirt. erin is on a new kick to be more upfront with cute guys but she lost her nerve with him....yes, he was that hot.

after dinner we decided to go to a bar in the area and troll for cuties. maybe it was the unseasonably warm weather, maybe it was our denial that it was monday, but we were expecting the boys to be out and about like it was a friday night. after passing over a few places, we settled on "dukes" which was cool and had plenty of men but noone interesting. we settled on a drink and then went our separate ways. however, we had a lot of fun so we decided to do it again on thursday. i haven't had a girl's night out in a long time and am glad we got to do it. the last time we saw each other was for melody's birthday--3 months ago! it's nice to hang with them because they're confident, independant, successful, single and comfortable in their skin--rare qualities in my female friends of the past.

i forgot to mention that my friend, xtina, got engaged over christmas. she's been with her boyfriend, james, for a little over a year. anyway, they spent the holidays in the uk and he proposed--totally unexpected yet very exciting. i haven't talked to her much about it but im dying to get the details. she's the first of my close circle of friends to get engaged but certainly this isn't surprising. the girl has had her light on for quite a while now. my cousin and i are hoping she'll have a black tie wedding so that we can wear our fabulous evening gowns that we debuted at my holiday party...he he. this is assuming that neither of us is in the wedding. i think kate will be in it but don't think i will be...which is fine by me. ive never been one to be a bridesmaid.

over and out.
